Custom made brooooo, made it in my backyard with some bulk steel and a harbor freight welder.

Well you can always stack them for getting that perfect fitment.

People are so helpful on the internet. You can direct transfer a type S hood to a base model, you can get the body kit from epsilon, which includes fender flares, but then you will probably need to get wheels with a more aggressive offset to fit the fender flares, or add spacers, 20-25mm spacers are the very reasonable. Also not sure if the fender flares are actually available for purchase yet. I think others are also working on them. You can pilfer most of the interior bits from a type s as well. Congrats on the purchase. Gl have fun

I’m not trying to be mean. I’m trying to save you time, money, and a ton of frustration. You’re getting these reactions because it’s an asinine idea.

At the same time, if you do it anyways and pull it off, good on ya. Great ideas always get mocked at first. Prove us wrong.

Yeah same here, it will be expensive and not worth your time to make a type s wannabe, it is just better to buy a different car. Getting a widebody means cutting your precious fenders and quarter panels to gain the clearance that a type s has.

Has anyone here tried out the Epsilon fender flare kit for the DE4? I think we're limited to 8.5in wide wheels with the DE4 (w/ 245/40R18 tires), and the flare kit's 35mm of extra clearance would allow you to use up to 9.5in wide wheel and possibly 255 or 265/35R18 tires.

$1000 for fender flares + cutting up your car doesn’t seem worth it.

The only upgrade I've got left is wheels and tires. Heart is set on the Rays gramLights 57CRs which only come in 18x9.5 at 114.3. Could very well be worth it on my end!

I hear you. However, if you have to cut the fender arches, then your fender liners won't work anymore, right? Seems like a huge can of worms. Not to mention the paint/sealing off the cut edges so things don't rust and stuff.

Oohf heavy points you add there

You might be able to approach the liners with type s liners... but yeah, no mod I can contemplate sounds quite as invasive. I think I'd have to pay to have the bodywork and painting done professionally

Or just find 8.5s that bring me joy ?
