I am unable to break the outside strut bolts loose on each side in order to attach the mounting plates for the hood strut. Was using a 14mm socket, turning counter-clockwise. Tried breaker bar, then quick pops with an electric torque wrench. No luck, I don't wanna strip these, but damn! Have any of you experienced this?

agreed, normally very easy to remove. That's crazy. going to have to get a long pipe and put it on the breaker bar. If the head snaps off the ratchet then you know you have problems. May have to get an adapter and try a 1/2 inch drive if that happens.

If i would have to guess, i would have to say no. I'm sure it could work with some but i wouldn't just because how these are mounted to the strut bolts.
It won't work with Cusco strut it does on driver side but not passenger

anyone have issues closing the hood from just pushing it down? Was planning to do this mod but my hood takes significant amount of force just to close it and don't want to dent my hood in the process. Watching the vid posted, it looks like it didn't take that much force and normally I have to drop the hood like 6-8" from the air to get it to close.

I don't have the hood struts yet, but I also have to drop the hood from a decent distance to get the hood to close. No problem though!

yeah no issues. Closes similar to any strut/damper system.

Good and tight! LOL. no clue. Just get the rivet nut in their tight and you should be fine. You can always monitor to make sure it stays tight.
