I’m trying to debate. There is some trimming that needs to be done with the inner bumper. It’s slightly different from the type R

I’m concerned with the top right side of the oil cooler when you’re facing it I’m worried about that rubbing up against the oil cooler what do you guys think? Should I trim it?

Did you ever get an answer that satisfied you? Or, did you go ahead and trim? Have been thinking about picking up the HEL for my DE5.

Does the Type S have to be modified to accommodate? I asked HEL Performance, and they didn't actually know.

It should bolt up. I know someone who sold their Apex blue ITS posted photos.

So, how well does the HEL oil cooler work? For example, can anyone attest to installing it eliminated going into heat-induced limp mode during track sessions ?

Is any bodywork trimming required for installing in an ITS ?

I am running the HEL oil cooler with CSF radiator on my Type R. Went to Daytona last month and it was a sunny / humid 91 degrees out and I experienced no overheating.

I did get close a couple of times the car hit 231 degrees coolant temps at the end of the 140+ mph long straight away.

But by the time I braked and came out of the first turn I was back down to 214 degrees and an inaccurate (310+ degrees oil temps).

I will be installing a AEM oil temp gauge soon to see the “real” oil temp readings as LogR is not a sensor and only a algorithm that doesn’t take into effect my cooling mods.
