Did they give you a part number of what they replaced?

I think we're all super curious now! Lol

Yea seriously. I thought that was the whole point. Did they have to replace a shock? Please post a pic of the receipt if possible or the part number and description at the very least.

Thanks!

Abs sensor wire! Definitely something that can be knocked about during a wheel install or an underbody wash.

Makes sense now. Thank you for posting.

Thanks for posting this! I’m still investigating my own issue, but this sheds light on the potential fix.

If I had to guess whether it was the tire install or the car wash, I lean more towards the tire install. Although it could have been a mixture of both though. I really hope it’s not the car wash though. I’m semi afraid to take it back through. Oddly enough, I had been through the one by my work a few times. It only happened when I went to one farther away from work on a trip to a micro center. I don’t know if maybe that one has higher pressure underbody wash. Who knows.

Do you know how they clamped the car during the wash? It wasn't the hook on chain style I hope?

You might never find out what specifically caused it. It could have also just been a slightly pulled wire from factory that got worse with some pressure and water intrusion.

I’m circling back to this thread to help others.

I was having an intermittent “suspension error light” on my dash at the beginning of this year. As a reminder, I am on coilovers and running ADS canceler modules on each corner for over 2 years. Suddenly, the errors stopped completely around February after I had popped off the wheels and check the connection and resistance of each of the modules.

Fast forward to about a few weeks ago (shortly after I did an DIY tire rotation), and the error light started popping every drive. Sometimes it would happen after a few minutes, sometimes almost right away. I took it to my dealer, and they were able to provide me with the error code…C1640-15. This is for a “left front solenoid abnormal current decrease.” I popped off the wheel and everything seemed to be fine. When I tried to unplug the module, I didn’t quite press down on the release tab, which led to the two wires of the module popping out completely. When I did remove the connector, I saw some corrosion (my car had 19k miles at the time). I cleaned out the corrosion and repinned my canceler module, and it’s been about 100 miles and about 20 drive cycles with no issues at all. Not sure if it was the slight corrosion or a loose wire.

Long story short, if you get that light, do a visual inspection of your ABS wire AND connector (inside). Error codes are C1640 (front left) or C1641 (front right). OP had C1641 issue which showed on the receipt he posted. Either there is a nick in the wire, bad connection, or the actual wheel speed sensor is bad.

I wanted to post the codes in text so that it could be searchable by anyone with the same problem.
