Here's my build so far. Purchased the car in June of 2024 and told myself I was going to leave it stock. But my previous car was an FBO Mk7 GTI that made plenty of low-end torque. So the Type-S actually felt a bit weaker in that sense. That's when the bug bit me again :D

The car handles amazingly from the factory and will never see track time, so I don't have any intention to mess with suspension. I also prefer a more subtle stock/sleeper look. Current mods are below with a few more on backorder awaiting delivery. I'm aiming for 500whp as my power goal.

I'm sure people have covered this elsewhere, but I'm new here so I'm wondering how are you doing for traction?

I bought mine slightly used and it came with all seasons (DWS06+, which I loved on my subies). Weirdly enough I have plenty of traction at the track once they are good and hot but on the street I'm spinning all the time. I realize when I wear these out I can go stickier, but you're adding all the power....can you put any down?

The solid mounts helped greatly. Lots more NVH now but I also get zero wheel hop and greatly increased traction. Even just replacing the rear dogbone mount will have a big effect.

But the Phearable tune also helped a lot, since it's has 4 different maps based on traction -- map 1, for instance, will allow you to practically stand on the pedal and not spin. I get way less wheelspin making more power than when I was on the Hondata base tune (I'd could spin in 3rd on damp pavement).

It's also my daily so I'm not excited about adding NVH. I have heard the benefits of tuning will go beyond power to healthier timing with less boost, less rev hang, and more controlled power delivery. While that's encouraging I've modded a car too far in the past so it's baby steps for me for now. I'll start with stickier tires and go from there, but I'm glad there are solutions because coming from AWD cars the one disappointment w the ITS has been traction...

Do you think if I did ONLY the dogbone it would add a fair amount of NVH? Honda's aren't the smoothest engines to begin with.

Understand completely! Yeah the dogbone alone won't be too bad. But I would definitely avoid the Hasport if NVH is a concern, since it uses a poly bushing. It's pretty firm even with a 'street' durometer bushing. PRL's would be a better choice being that it uses EPDM instead. It's more OEM+ I would say.

Did you keep the factory lower heatshield on the RV6 downpipe? I see you have the PTP turbo and DP elbow blankets.

Yes! The RV6 DP has a bracket that lines up with the factory heatshield. The elbow blanket fits nicely over it. No issues. I know there's some debate about their effect on the longevity of the turbo. But they also made a huge difference to the engine bay temps too.
