Yuck... Yeah I'd let them have it back. If they're willing to buy it back in full, then it's no skin off your back and you can go get something else.

What are we looking at in these pics? Not being sarcastic; I’m not familiar with transmission innards. Doesn’t look too good though despite my ignorance!
It's a shredded shaft bearing (I assume output shaft?).

It's a nachi built bearing (you can see the branding on it) so possibly a bad batch, bad bearing, or might even just be contaminated or underfilled fluid. Latter isn't the likeliest, but it's possible.

It should have been caught by qc during assembly. A bad bearing like this should never have passed to assembly phase.

Honestly looks like it was misaligned from the get go and just rammed together to bolt it up... Hence the failure of the bearings as they had a hell of a load on them! And not as they are designed for lol...

Yeah I have built more than a few transmissions and this looks like a lot like a mfg fug up!!! Either way glad they are taking care of it!
