Anyone got any insight to what the big difference is between these two models? I'm debating an upgrade from my 10th gen civic but can't figure out if i'm really getting much for the $3k difference.
I am starting my search for a new car. I've finally gotten over my being upset about the integra having a CVT and after looking at an a5 sportback and the absurd pricing the stealership had for payment, warranty, etc i'm back to looking at an integra. Can anyone give any insight on how it drives...
This is me and why I'm being hyper analytical on what I'll get exactly in this next car. My civic, while I like it, was a compromise as I needed something quick that was somewhat fun, but affordable since I had just totaled my previous ride. I've been waiting and saving to get something and then...
This is what's finally got me less mad about it having a CVT and waiting to see the reviews on driving. If they give it 2 modes and the 2nd mode is actually tuned more for peak engine power vs peak MPG it won't be bad. That's not to say i'm against just getting a manual for the first time either...
it doesn't even do anything that a civic isn't offering. the fact that its gonna be like $36k-$37k for the manual option and the auto is just a CVT instead of an enthusiast auto option, basically means you can pay $10k more than an Si if you want the version that doesn't suck and get leather...
I agree, and I will say this as someone whos disappointed it's going to be a CVT. The whole point of a CVT is to tune it to "ideal" RPMs. in most cases that's MPG, but IF acura is able to have 2 modes, and one is sport so at least then the power band is running for optimal power instead of MPG...
This! I think the issue is that for those who just want an Si with leather, this is perfect. but for those of us who wanted an Acura, in it's current form, it is not. Is it a bad car, no it's just not an acura or an integra, it's an Si with a CVT.
I mean the issue is Acura is the one who pinned themselves to make it $30k vs $33-35k. I'm sorry but a 2 series or an a3 don't cost much more than the integra. 2 series nets you 250 hp and an a3 will at least get you awd with 200hp. I'm not on here trying to bash acura, i'm saying peoples...
Man it's getting really tough to stick with Honda/Acura if this is true. I don't hate honda's CVT, i have one, but i wanted my next car to be something fun with a DCT, which is you know, offered in basically every other acura.
my point is just what someone mentioned above. i'd hope it's a cross between being the civic and tlx, give me the TLX wheel, vents, and seats, and keep the rest the civic and it'd be acura enough. but this prototype is just 100% civic. I don't think that'd be an insane amount of R&D especially...
That's not really true though. most people are going to be landing around the $35k mark on an integra. for $35k they could at least put the TLX steering wheel in it. to straight up be like this is a leather civic but it has an acura badge is a problem. at least the ILX was different from the 9th...
If this really isn't pre production and this is what it actually is then this is off the table for me. while i've been in a 11th civic an can say it's nice, it is NOT an acura interior and i am not going to pay acura pricing to get a literal honda civic. Right now they've basically done zero to...
when the h*** are they going to announce the actual specs? It shouldn't take that long to announce HP, whether it has AWD, and what transmission options there will be.
