  1. A swoosh or whoosh sound when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear

lol, i think you were quoting me. I'm cryptolime on other honda forums. either civicx, civicxi, civic11forums, or reddit. i don't remember. but, yea, i've read from multiple people that say it's the countershaft that clunks around, especially when shifting at low rpms. I wonder if a...
  2. A swoosh or whoosh sound when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear

i had the same noise for the first 15k miles. Even took it to the dealer because I thought something was wrong. it eventually went away. I think maybe it was the PCV valve or something. almost sounded like a faint whirring/whistle. but since you the have the PRL HVI, you may just be...
  3. 2nd gear trans sound *not shifter*

i think it also might have something to do with the thin MTF these gearboxes use. so not as much cushion like some older gearboxes that use 90 weight MTFs. could also be the LSD too, not sure I tried Torco MTF based on some recommendations but it didn't like it. seemed to slippery for the...
  4. 2nd gear trans sound *not shifter*

the subtle clunk is totally normal. usually only notice it at low speeds/RPMs. someone on another forum said it was the countershaft and just the way these gearboxes are designed. nothing harmful going on.

  7. Auto Rev Match Interfering with Upshifts

it's been my favorite manual car I've ever owned. Seems to get smoother as you put more miles on it. or maybe i just got the hang of it. I think the A/C compressor was really tight when new and took 20k miles to really loosen up and stop messing with my shifts. would get this weird clunk...
  8. Which air filter?

yea, they are more for the track than daily driving. not worth the minute difference in flow to let all those particles in your engine.
  9. Looking for a dash cover

Armorall is like putting butter on your dash. it's greasy and there are much better options.
  10. Which air filter?

Stick with the OEM filter. You could get an aftermarket, high-flow filter, but you are sacrificing filtration for flow.
  11. Exploded Prl intake.

i would contact PRL to see about warranty coverage. they may even give you some freebies if you send it back to them so they can inspect it. it looks like the crack started where the "P" in "PRL" was embossed into the plastic. could be a manufacturing defect. The "R" and the "L" also looks...

some people have fixed their wastegate rattle on other car forums by adding a spring

  14. How to Mouse-proof my ITS?

some other advice i got from a tech somewhere was to always turn recirculate on before shutting off the car. Makes it harder for rodents to get in.
  15. How to Mouse-proof my ITS?

the problem with cats is they like to jump on the car and scratch it with their claws
  16. How to Mouse-proof my ITS?

i had wasps use the foam cover on my HPFP to make a nest. i bought some Little Trees Pine scented air fresheners and put one each on my front strut mounts in the engine bay. Then every week or so I'd spray the air freshener trees with peppermint oil. Haven't had a problem with any rodents...

she drove it with low air pressure over a long period of time.
  20. HVAC Control Panel -- Does it show the mode while in Auto?

just says the temp in auto mode. when it's heating it sends most of the air out the bottom vents and when it's cooling it sends most air out the top vents.
