Dents' gloves are great! If you're not on track, driving gloves can be seem or feel a little...pretentious. If you're sole purpose is to not have to deal with a hot or cold shift knob, buy the cheapest quality gloves available. You can scoop a pair of Mechanix gloves on Amazon for $20.
I don't follow the comment about the foam cannon using a lot of product. If you're using the shampoo properly, a foam cannon does not use a lot of product at all. A relatively small amount of a high quality shampoo can be used with a foam cannon and it will produce thick clinging foam. Some of...
If you use the thing properly, there's nothing to be nervous about. If you hit the paint with a straight stream at 2,000 psi at close range, yes, you will run the risk of damaging the ppf and/or paint, but that's improper use. You will want to use a pressure washer spray nozzle with a pattern...
I started with a low pressure foamer (re garden hose compatible) when I got into detailing many years ago and it's a waste of time. It essentially negates the benefit of why you use a foam cannon in the first place. You'd be better off with the 2 bucket wash set up that you mentioned.
I highly...
Nowhere. $500 will get you a non-color stable film that will bubble and turn purple in a few years time, maybe less.
On a side note, OP - why are you tipping your film installer?
The $56K deal doesn't look terrible. It appears to be ~$1,000 over MSRP. If this is your color combination, I would take this deal. It's~$1,000 to enjoy your car now and not some unknown time in the future. It's actually less than that if you factor in the inevitable price hike from Acura...
It's doubtful Acura will cover this under warranty. As someone else mentioned it may be time for aftermarket wheels if the finish is this soft. Also wouldn't make sense to refinish the wheels in the same color in hopes of a more durable finish since you'll be out $1,000 for $1,500 for the set.
I've used the MyQ integration for a couple of 30-day trials on a Tesla I have and it was great. It has an auto open and close feature which was nice. I don't believe that feature is available for the Honda/Acura. I love the functionality, but it's definitely not worth the price.
I'll try it...
It may be helpful to modify your approach. The irons in the fire strategy is always a solid one. If you haven't already, I suggest get on waiting lists no matter how deep they are. If you're Team MSRP or Bust, leverage this thread to call on the MSRP dealers and get on their list. You can...
In my experience the doc fee rarely goes away. It has become an intrinsic to the transaction whether you agree with it or not. It's a near guaranteed revenue stream for the dealership. It's odd because some dealerships will charge a nominal sum ($79) and others will charge much more ($799) to...
Congrats! I had a 2005 RSX Type S in NBP. Loved that car! We knew then the K series motor was special. Some twenty years later it's still here. I bet it was hard to let it go.
As far as I know they are identical. At least from a part number perspective. I posted the below on the other forum in July with respect to my take on why the ITS made more power on the dyno than the FL5 in Savagegeese's test at King Motorsports:
All 38 components of the turbocharger and...
Mudflaps look awful on this type of performance car. It really kills the look. Get ppf on areas of concern and/or look for a low(er) profile splashguard solution.
Thanks for that. I noticed there's a material variance between peak power on the FL5 and DE5 tuned on 91 octane. Can you provide an explanation for the delta?
This debate has raged on for what seems like forever, piggyback vs. ECU tuning. BMS has been at it for a while and people seem to be pleased with their offerings. People find a lot of comfort in knowing the JB4 can largely be removed "without a trace." There are pros and cons to both methods of...
