not helpful but i'm thinking about debadging mine too. especially because my vanity plate says "DADS CTR" so i want people to scratch their heads. an "iykyk" kind of thing haha. also to troll my friends with CTRs to show my maturity superiority (while also showing my own immaturity, ironically.)
nice surprises:
- I like silver better than I thought I would
- No auto shut-off to disable <3
- sounds better than expected (still not an NA V8 but hey.... haha)
- my wife likes it more than expected
- more people seem to notice/compliment it than expected
- i haven't had thoughts of selling...
Sorry - no advice for the gauges .. but interested to know which group are you running with at Road America. I am moving out of Ohio soon and wanted to check that one off my list. I usually run with Chin, HOD or BMWCCA/PCA.
Thanks!
Matt
Good luck getting this sorted … my car has a metallic sound to it as well but it seems more pronounced as i come OFF throttle … almost made me wonder if it’s a KERS type thing. Probably not. it almost has a metal on metal sound like a brake pad rubbing but doesn’t quite seem to fit … intersted...
it’s probably a case of “I want something that I don’t have” haha…. Dark gray looks quite good. On the online configurator I did the bronze and decided I didn’t like the red calipers behind the bronze. I liked my gold wheels on black M3CS but it had black calipers so a little different.m
I...
the bronze wheels would probably look odd on silver, yeah? small part of me wants to trade this silver car for blue or white when it's available so i can get the bronze wheels ... this silver/gray does look really good though!
this car looks great in various lighting. Can’t wait to get through break in and rip on it … especially at a track .. trying to decide which to take it to. Mid Ohio, pitt race, corvette museum.. ? in the meantime, I’m really enjoying it on the street!
Haha got my car yesterday and this annoyed me. Also wondering why there are two buttons inside the hatch handle. I guess one to unlock/open and the other one to lock it? I gotta RTFM I guess ….
slight variation to what’s noted by OP but seems like it should accomplish the same thing.
I think I’ll do this tomorrow. seems easy enough and a nice little sound improvement.
I wouldn’t worry too much about functions of the seat… I imagine there are airbag (steering wheel) sensor hacks to at least keep that functional.
CTR seats are a nice option except the red and I doubt I’d like the seat covers. Too “Pep Boys.” I’ll at least take delivery and try the seats...
yeah I don’t think I would miss that … I do want to retain airbag functionality and I wouldn’t do a fixed bucket. I wish I could use the adjustable carbon buckets from my m3. They’re the best seats I’ve had.
I’d be interested to hear from someone who has gone through this to see what they say...
I searched the forum and haven't found anything except "seat covers."
Anyone find solutions yet? I've never had aftermarket seats installed on a car before. The seat brackets seem like a big deal and are maybe car/seat specific and set your seat height? Also we will probably lose some...
Anyone come across a "track prep" guide? i've had cars that have an owner's manual supplement describing track prep details (e.g. changing diff fluid at a certain mileage, using different oil weight, removing brake duct blockers, etc). my buddy just got an FL5 and states there is nothing like...
i did want ABP but i'll be happy with silver. they all have their pros/cons. maybe i'll trade for an ABP later if i end up loving the integra platform!
