Just swapped to my winter wheels that I ordered from Fitment Industries, but the new TPMS sensors aren’t syncing.

Instructions from Fitment Industries say they’ll auto sync.

When I google ITS TPMS relearn, I get results saying under vehicle settings or a physical button. Neither are the case on my ITS.

Any advice?

Assuming they are the correct frequency the car will pick them up. It make take a few minutes of driving around for them to appear on the dash display but there is nothing you need to do setup-wise.

I just did this and a couple miles of driving around is all it takes.

Now, that's assuming the sensors are the correct ones.

I have fully given up on ever ordering wheels with tires already mounted and balanced because of jank TPMS issues. You can request OEM sensors, they'll claim they're sending OEM sensors, and you'll invariably get something wrong and the only surefire way to check is dismount the tire and then what's the point of having them shipped complete in the first place?

A lot of third-party sensors have to be cloned/configured first in order to work. This means they need an initial setup with a dedicated tool. Some TPMS systems (like the one on my 2014 Tacoma) have sensors with IDs that have to be coded into the car, and the car is not capable of self-learning. With some third party sensors, that ID can be cloned, which means that the vehicle needs nothing done to it when you swap your wheel sets, which is handy for people that don't want to fork out for a solution like an ATEQ or similar - and have to remember how to run it twice a year.

The better system is the one like our cars have, where if the existing sensor drops out, it will simply start looking for a new sensor at that location automatically. But the sensor either needs to be OEM, or a cloned OEM sensor.

Places that ship wheels mounted and balanced rarely use OEM TPMS sensors because they're more expensive than the third party ones. You'll often get an Autel or Schrader universal type that the car isn't going to recognize without some help.

I ordered my TPMS sensors from Honda (part number 42753-T6N-E03) and took my wheels, tires, and sensors to a trusted shop to have them mounted and balanced. Two miles later they all showed up perfectly.

Thanks. Clearly an issue w the sensors they installed because I’ve driven it enough over the weekend that they should’ve synced.

Was just hoping there was a way to initiate a sync on my end before taking further steps.

I’ll update once resolved.

As mentioned, as long as they're the 433mhz ones it will pick up. The oem ones are continental.

If all are not reporting, I would bet they either didn't use a 433mhz sensor or they didn't orient it correctly inside the wheel.

Were you able to sync the sensors? If not you might want to go with OEM.

TPMS Sensors - (Type S)

$31/ea

I ordered a set from an eastern Acura dealer for future wheel upgrades next year. Service manager checked the part with my VIN and threw in a bunch of Acura swag and some black caps.

Fitment Industries is sending me the TPMS relearn tool at no cost, with return shipping label. I just had to sign something saying I will return the tool within 2 weeks. Their customer service team is pretty responsive. Assume that should get me all set. Thanks everyone.

Oddly enough, the auto relearn finally synced up over the weekend before I even received the tool from F.I.

I literally put over 200 miles on the new wheels before they finally synced. Could be a fluke, could be the aftermarket sensors. Either way, they’re working now.

In hindsight I would’ve gone w OEM sensors, but overall experience with Fitment Industries was positive.

That’s odd that it took so long. Just put my snow tires w/Tirerack sensors on and the sensors synced up with the car within a mile.
