I went to the dealer for the recall and to fix my rattle , they said bc the manager was not in they wouldn’t look at the rattle but would do the warranty . I walked away and said call me when the manager is in and I’ll do both at once . Waste of time . Now I’m starting to get a small creaking sound when I turn my steering wheel also . I did change my steering wheel so I am sure they won’t even look at that when I go .

I had the creaky/ticking steering wheel. Mine only occurred when the wheel was unwinding after turning right and sometimes left.

Dealer fixed it, but I had the oem Alcantara wheel that I installed myself. It was the cable reel that went bad.

Yeah, you could. I'd make the dealer do it personally because it's a Honda issue for the last 10+ years and I believe in voicing problems so they're forced to fix it longer term.

You have to pull the airbag, steering wheel, and part of the plastic assembly to get to the cable reel.

I put an after market carbon wheel on , I’m afraid they may say it was my fault and not warranty it .

Coming back to this with an update - took the car to the dealer last week . They will not fix/warranty my cable reel as they said it was due to the aftermarket steering wheel installed . Although I don’t see how that could have caused the issue at all as the cable reel is behind it all .

The main rattle that I keep hearing upon accel/decel from the front right below the a Pilar was not fixed . They kept the car for the day and called me saying when they took some of the bottom plastics off they found some pipes touching causing the rattle and manipulated them so they don’t touch anymore . Picked up the car when they were closing drove two blocks and heard the rattle immediately. Bringing it back again this week . Wish me luck

I just dropped mine off to address dash rattles, as well... I have 2 -- one on the driver's side (very loud, triggered by uneven road surfaces and drivetrain vibrations), and one over towards the center / passenger's side (higher frequency, seems to be caused by drivetrain vibrations at around 3500 rpm). They're much worse than they used to be, and they're absolutely driving me insane at this point. My hopes are not high, but I gave them some clips, so they know what to listen for.

I'm in a TLX for the time being. The interior materials quality is better than the Integra's, but the car feels so disconnected. It gave me a new appreciation for the ITS. I really can't stand the "feel" of most modern cars.

Good luck , I went in the other day and they told me their tech isn’t coming in and they have no loaners . Woke up early also to be there and got my 5yr old up early to come with me before school . Manager said he’d call be back that day and I got no call back yet . This was Monday . I’m pissed and kind of just want to sell the car even though I love it in many ways . I just don’t know what I’d get next that’s manual and somewhat affordable . I believe your second video is the clock spring in the steering wheel , I just had the same thing pop up on me also . Didn’t fix it yet .

Props to my dealer. They put a lot of time into tracking down my dash rattles, and they appear to have fixed them.

They had my car for a week, during which time they treated 3 separate rattles: the meter cover, a broken AC vent on the dash trim (replaced the whole trim piece), and assembly issues with the dash beam on the passenger side. They also found that a bolt was missing in the dash and replaced it. The tech's notes show 10(!) separate road tests.

(Also: they advised they shared their findings with their internal tech line, so hopefully others can benefit if they have similar issues and take their cars in.)

I'm impressed with the service; I did not have high hopes, and they exceeded my expectations. QC issues re: assembly are unfortunate and we deserve better. My dealer did right by me, though, so much credit to them.

I love this!!

Which dealer and where?

My closest two dealers are owned by the same group and they've been mediocre. I really loved getting a wheel back with a new tire (special warranty replacement), but with the wrong weights (type s weights are black), old weight goo still stuck on, tire lube all over wheel (couldn't pick it up without hands getting dirty), and of course the various nicks and scratches they left behind.

For any warranty work I was planning on driving 4 hrs away to the next closest dealer, but I'm not above just shipping the car to a respectable acura dealer. For even oil changes I'm checking the work behind the dealer techs now... I have 11 "free" oil changes left and I really wonder if I should just skip them ?

I just helped a friend with a similar rattle on his Type S. The plastic trim on the side of the seat mounts to a metal bracket. You can try taking apart the plastic trim just enough to get to the area and put some felt tape around where it clips to the seat frame. 5 minute job and no tools needed. I should have taken pictures but it was such an easy job I didn't think to document it.

Scarborough, ME.

It's not worth shipping if you aren't relatively nearby. They did the right thing, and I appreciate their effort and their willingness to commit time (which was considerable), especially considering most dealers apparently won't do the bare minimum. But, while two of my dash rattles are fixed, there's still one minor one coming from the center area (my guess is it's the infotainment one -- there's a deep dive on the FL5 forums I plan to replicate in the next week or two), and they did knick my steering wheel during the process. I will continue to do my own oil changes, etc. haha.
