Milltek: I am wondering if anyone with the no resonated version of the Milltek catback has any drone in comfort mode?

AWE: How does the touring version sound compared to Milltek/MBRP (tone, volume)? It’s a significantly cheaper option so I am wondering if the others really sound that much better than AWE and if the difference is justified

MBRP: is there any drone with the non resonated setup in comfort mode?

I have the non resonated Milltek, and for the week that I drove with it before adding the TSP downpipe I didn't think there was any drone in comfort mode. I couldn't here the exhaust at all at volume level 12 unless there was some decent load on the engine. It does sound weird with the valve closed after adding the downpipe though, very tinny. In the end my girlfriend and mother both approved, if that helps lol.

I still drive around a lot with the valve open even after the downpipe because I like to hear the car (it definitely drones a lot), but I'm glad there's a valve for when I just want to put around at low rpm with minimal noise. Keep in mind this is coming from a guy who daily drove foxbody with headers and dumps for a while.

*Also, I hardly use sport plus because the pops and bangs are incredibly loud. Only used for pissing off the neighbors.

Wasn’t considering downpipe while making my pick but definitely something i need to keep in mind now, thanks for the heads up. Would you recommend going for road+ or resonated milltek to future proof the downpipe option?

Also, apart from it sound weird in comfort mode, is there any drone at highway cruising speeds?

If you’re not doing a downpipe, non res Milltek is perfect. I have the same setup as @TEPTeggy but I also love hearing the car. I had Drob turn the stock pops and bangs down because they do get crazy after a downpipe upgrade

I agree, I would say minimal drone with the Milltek and and AWE setup. Haven't heard the MBRP inside yet.

Keep in mind, everyone has a different drive and tolerance for drone though. Some exhausts I thought were zero drone, some people complained about.

We do have all three exhausts in stock if interested.

Hey OP, not familiar with how other brands design their systems, but for us the 180 Technology resonator comes in clutch.

It has no packing material so it does not cut down on sound or tone. Its sole purpose is to cancel out drone frequencies. End result is a great tone while on throttle and tame in the cabin at cruising speeds.

Plenty of sound clips, right this way if you care to check them out. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any other questions, happy to help! ?

Have seen a lot of folks on the FL5 forums say the AWE system still drones so idk about that.

I have seen somebody elsr say to go with the resonated system if you plan on adding a down pipe, and I can agree with that.

If I had gone for a system without the valve like the AWE, I would have done the touring option with muffler and resonator (with a downpipe).

We do have more than one system for the FL5 just like we do for the Integra, so my first question would be whether they had the Track Edition, which does not come equipped with our 180 Tech resonators so I would not be surprised to hear they had drone with Track.

We are pretty active on that forum too so I will have a look and make sure nobody is running into any issues, but if you see someone reporting drone on a Touring Edition something is up and we would want to get them to support ASAP so we can get to the bottom of it.

Feel free to DM me a link or tag me in any thread so we can jump in and help! ?

There is actually no muffler in our Touring Edition system, which is one of the ways we get a rowdy on throttle and tame at cruising speeds soundtrack without the need for a valve.

Completely agree with that though, if I were doing a downpipe on these cars the Touring Edition is the way to go ?

Adding a note to this - if you do upgrade your downpipe, then the Milltek part resonated option balances things out and works great! It is my current top recommendation for this platform.

No drone AT ALL with MBRP in comfort mode.. Valved exhuast us way to go IMO and very minimal drone with valve open in sport and sport+ at highway speeds.

What about the road+ option compared to the resonated? My primary concern is drone but I also prefer a relatively loud tone.

I saw your video actually on YouTube, it sounds pretty good with the TSP down pipe. I was worried about the drone cause the mbrp website doesn’t mention about it at all which I found strange. But thanks for your feedback, definitely helps
