How in the world is it possible for the 1,000 lbs heavier TLX to finish this U-drag faster?
I guess the automatic transmission and the torque vectoring AWD helped it.

I guess the automatic transmission and the torque vectoring AWD helped it.
It's because a large part of the race requires heavy acceleration from lower speeds. Top end and corners the ITS would demolish the TLX-TS.

Also one thing people seem to forget is the cost of ownership if you intend to drive the cars fast. The TLX and even ITS comparisons like the S3 and M240i are significantly heavier. Their tires have to work that much harder to get them to speed or around corners. I'd argue you can get the next stickest tire to last the same amount of time on the ITS because of it's relative lightness (for 2023)

The prime example of this phenomenon is the Miata and why it's such a favorable track car, you easily get multiple track days from tires and brakes.

Not favorable surface for 2WD.

Look at the final results.
The TLX trapped 110mph vs 115mph (ITS).

From a roll it was going to be another outcome.

Decent Vid..no susprises...TLX should smoke the ITS from a dig most if not all AWD vehicles will...
