Got my FL5 arm rest. Fits a lot better but the gap is still there, its better but still not perfect. Would it help if trim all the tabs and just leave the 4 ones with the blue thingy?

The problem is with mikstores kit. Some people get lucky and maybe get as close as 1-2mm gap, it's due to the length of the clips. I've contacted mikstore about it but they basically ghosted me after a few emails.

Can the black part be trimmed down after temporary removing the blue piece?

If you can figure out a way to remove the clip and shift it further back similar to oem then try it. I can't recall if it was possible since its been years but I think it wasn't possible.

Mikstore kit will never fit right. If you want perfect fitment..order the JDM rear console parts and just use the splitter and vent tube from the kit. If you ordered the USB ports...you can reuse that with the JDM parts (Rear console, vent and vent tube). This will give the perfect OEM fitment for the rear AC.

If you can get mikstore to sell you just the splitter, or you're able to source one elsewhere, it's possible to use 100% Honda original parts for the rest of it. Here's a full list of Honda OEM parts:
  • These parts I sourced from Japan, make sure to select the specified part # from the drop-down (https://jdmyamato.com/products/nhp001628?variant=43000102617336). Some may be found on other sites via a search.
    • Part #26 - 83451-T24-T01ZA - Garnish ASSY., Rear * NH900L * (NH900L Neutral Black)
    • Part #27 - 83453-T24-T01 - Duct assembly., Rear
    • Part #28 - 83460-T43-J00 - Duct, rear vent
    • Part #30 - 83465-T43-J00 - Duct, rear vent middle
  • 8A350-TJB-A01 - Charger unit, USB dual (C)
  • 83405-36W-A01ZB - Armrest *NH900L* (Cheapest option, just replace the pad with the one from your original armrest)
  • 83433-T43-J31ZA - Box ASSY., Console (MT) (VENT) * NH900L * (NH900L Neutral Black)
  • 83406-TVA-A01ZA - Rear outlet Assy
  • 83470-T43-J31 - Liner
  • 83419-T24-T00 - Bracket, Rr. Console
  • 2 x 91550-SFJ-W01ZE - Clip, Center Lower * NH900L * (NH900L Neutral Black) <--Secures the duct pieces to each other. One additional clip would secure the duct to the lower bracket for the lever assembly, but there's no mount point on the US version and the Japan version likely would work in its place due to it being for RHD.
  • 2 x 90140-TR0-A01 - Bolt-washer (5X25) <-- Secures the console bracket to the floor
  • 3 x 93913-24220 - Screw, Tapping (4X12) <-- Secures the rear outlet assembly to the rear garnish
I think that covers everything, but if you notice anything that's missing, just let me know. One thing I omitted was the console harness which varies between the A-Spec and Type-S. For the Type-S, you can build an adapter harness for the USB ports or get the A-Spec and still have to build an Adapter harness to the A-Spec console harness. Since skipping the A-Spec harness saves $, I posted information on how to build a harness to add in the USB ports to the existing Type-S harness:

This post provides an idea of the key differences between the mikstore kit and the OEM parts.

BTW, the top of the armrest, should you order one w/ the correct bracket, can easily be swapped over since it's just held onto the plastic by some screws.
