Does anyone know whether the sensor part of the TPMS is separate or able to be separated from the valve stem that they come with?

Reason for the Q - Wheels I’m looking at come with valve stems, much better looking than any rubber or even the oem sort-of metal looking ones. I’d rather keep the stainless or color matched stems that come with new wheels.

I have no problem buying a second set of sensors or separate sensors if it works that way.

I've read somewhere on this forum that a guy "taped" the TPMS inside the wheels in CTR wheels as you can't put the TPMS sensor where it belongs. He said that worked OK.

Search on the forum, you might find that message.
