Nice... gonna give these a go, I think. There's a part of me that would love to throw sphericals in the front of this car, but I'm not ready to make that kind of commitment, haha. This seems like a cheap / easy enough first step on that direction (and it won't kill the ride quality either).
👍 It definitely added a little texture to the steering for me but it wasn't a game changer (which makes sense). But any additional communication from the steering wheel is better than nothing.

Yep! My thoughts exactly. For $45... I'll take it.

I asked on the FL5 forums, but I can't seem to get any feedback re: extent of detriment to ride quality / daily drivability from someone who replaced the bushings altogether... and I don't want to be the guinea pig for that (especially because that's an install I'd be paying someone else to do).

I find Jubbal to be pretty snobbish/dickish so I don't really enjoy his content but he did review an fl5 with spherical bushings and liked it.

Yep! I'm sure it's a fantastic mod re: feedback / engagement for the driver... but I'm curious how friends / family feel about the prospect of riding along in the car now, haha.

Front lower control arm bushing insert - this introduced a little bit more of the texture of the road to the steering. You can feel the steering vibrate more when you drive different road surfaces. Doesn't seem to change the steering weight any differently. Change was subtle enough that most people wouldn't notice but I really liked this mod.

Glad I stumbled upon this! I had the Whiteline Anti Lift Kit on my Si, and there was a mild increase in NVH but the steering weight, response, and higher speed stability was a worthy trade-off. On the FK8 I had RV6's spherical compliance mounts, and they were great at high speed, but pretty harsh during low speed.

Your discovery of the insert from the FK8 carrying over to the DE5 is a great cheap mod for anyone. Going to try this on my FL5 and report back :)

Can you provide a little more detail on the ride quality impacts of the RV6 setup? Did you do front and rear? What wheel / tire setup were you running? Part of me really likes the idea of the steering and caster benefits or the RV6 setup, and I'm willing to take a hit to ride quality, but it's a little scary to go in blind, haha.

One of the things that the Fl5 has that the DE5 doesn't have is a digital shift light so I decided to put one in. It's just so hard to hear turbo engines and it also scratched my ricerboi itch. Excuse the misalignment, I was still testing out the lights when I took this picture.
