Hello, I am an owner of a manual 2024 Acura Integra with A-Spec Tech Package. I've owned it since July 2024. We made the decision to purchase the car after months of research, and tough decision making. I chose Acura because of its reputation of excellence, performance, style, and luxury.

Since I've owned it, I have had issues that Acura hasn't addressed or fixed. I've brought it up to the dealerships when I bring the car in for service, but because they can't replicate the issue, they tell me it’s working as it should. However, I drive a manual car, and notice the smallest details when they're off. There are 3 main issues I'm having with my car that has not been taken care of, or are being told there’s no issue:

1. When getting into the driver’s seat and starting the car, the seat should move to the saved setting position. However, that is not always the case as it’s slightly off many times. It doesn’t do it all the time, therefore, hard to replicate. The technician wouldn’t notice if they didn’t drive the car as much as I do.

2. When reversing, the mirror tilts down, but should return to it’s set position when driving forward or parked. However, the mirror is slightly off sometimes, and doesn’t fully get back to the set position. It points lower than the setting. Again, it doesn’t do it all the time, so it’s hard to replicate. And even if it does, the technician might not notice it since they don’t drive it all the time.

3. The start button doesn’t always work. With the clutch pressed down, pressing the start button should start the car. However, there are times when it doesn’t. This has happened more frequently as I would say it happens once every few weeks or so.

I've tried the Factory Data Reset, and so has the dealership, but the issues continue to happen. I feel like there’s a simple software update that would solve the issue. I have not been able to find a satisfactory resolution with the manufacturer or internet searches.

After a year and a half of owning the car, I'm not sure Acura has lived up to its reputation, or at least my expectation of its reputation. Here are my feedback so far:

PROS:

• I like the handling of the car.

• I like the sound system.

• I like the overall look of the car.

CONS:

• The car looks sharp, but it’s too big. It could be better if it were a bit smaller and lighter. I think the horsepower it was given was not adequate for the weight and size of the car, and left a lot to be desired. I came from a 2008 MazdaSpeed 3, which was amazing to drive. I loved most things about the MazdaSpeed 3, except it crazy torque steer, and its repair costs in the end. Otherwise, this was by far one of the best valued cars. I bought it new for $24k out the door. Therefore, my expectation for this Acura at close to $40k should’ve exceeded my view of the MazdaSpeed 3. The leather seats look and feel cheap. I feel like I should’ve just gotten a Honda Civic instead.

• Although the car is somewhat big, the trunk space is weird, and doesn’t store enough things easily. It’s probably because the car isn’t a true hatchback, but a hybrid of sedan and hatchback, so it’s not great for either.

• There’s too much technology/electronics going on that’s distracting for a true driver. The infotainment system is just too much. It should be easy and fast for the things I want to do, which it isn’t. Also, for someone who hates smudges, the screen gets fingerprint smudges on it all the time. The glossy trim around the stick also gets smudges on it. VERY ANNOYING!

• The lumbar support is crap! It doesn’t support enough, unlike Toyotas.

• The heated seats are inferior to Toyota's. My seat gets a little warm, but not like the Toyotas, which is very toasty on cold days.

• The charging pad is basically useless as that space could be used better organization like for a pen, post its, change.

• The electronic brakes are a joke. I'm just waiting for the electronics to fail and my brakes not work because of it.

I've experienced number 3 on the list above, and solved it by not keeping my key next to my cell phone. Do you commonly have them in the same pocket?

I don't use the mirror tilt or easy exit options but I know others on here have mentioned the mirror concern.

Experienced 2 and 3.
2 I think happens every time but only a little bit each time. So it slowly creeps back up but it’s not noticeable after just 1 or 2 tries. And I know others have mentioned this happening on the forum too. I “solved” it by getting convex mirrors and turning off the feature as I no longer needed it.

3 used to happen to me and at one point it got pretty bad, and then I read a comment on here by someone else who was also experiencing it and realized they weren’t pushing the clutch in all the way until the engine starts. Lo and behold I make sure I’m pushing it in all the way and not releasing pressure until the engine starts and it’s started every time since then. I guess the safety mechanism is very sensitive and will stop turning the engine if it detects the clutch is raised even a millimeter…

Does the A-Spec have the same seats as the Type S? If so, I'm surprised at your disappointment. They are not track seats for sure, but for a daily driver I find them about right.

I've definitely noticed (1) and (2), enough to wonder if I was doing something wrong or if it was a system setting that I needed to change. Another slightly more serious concern I'll pile on is that the view out the back - especially on the quarters - is pretty limiting which can make backing into a tight parking spot challenging. These are mildly annoying things but not enough for me to regret getting the car overall. Every car out there is going to have some issues (and nothing replaces the comfort of an old shoe i.e. previous car) but this one still has the most of everything I was looking for within my budget.

1. I don't know who this feature is for. It makes it harder to get out as the seat is slowly sinking away from you. Plus waiting for the seat to slowly crawl forward so you can press the clutch enough to start the thing? Fuck that shit, it stays off.

2. This stays off too. You have to wait for the mirror to come back up before shutting off the car or else it stays down.

3. You have to deliberately floor the clutch and hold the start button. No getting away quick in this thing, especially if you're waiting for the seat to come back up with feature #1.

Should've bought a civic? Well, this thing is a high-trim civic. Acura clearly developed it on a budget so they could have some sort of small sedan on the lot.
