I was compairing to an Ecoboost in the pricing. Though the Bullitt was only a couple k over a loaded GT, which sadly today is still like 75-76k. No way in HELL would I have ever paid 75-76k for my car. Heck I refused to even pay the 50k MSRP back in 2019.

Yeah, 38K is ~51k in todays money but your paying 55K for near identical power levels, and getting LESS features in a brand that calls itself luxury. For that extra 4k it should least be close to feature parallel, but even the more pricy TLX wasnt feature parallel. It's not just an Acura thing, its all makers doing this too.
I feel like all manufacturers go in waves. I loved mid 2010s audi and mid 2000s Honda. Recent bmw (until most recent) have been getting insanely good. Hyundai has dramatically upped their game, and even mid 2010s Hyundai on the genesis platform (coupe and sedan) was on par with some luxury brands (namely lexus).

I was hoping the Integra type s would be the spiritual successor to the tl type s, and on par with the e46 m3 from a performance and steering feel standpoint. It's kind of, maybe there... Until you hit a slightly rough road.

I see... and honestly the Ecoboost is a pretty good car. A guy in my local autocross region is devastatingly fast in one.

I compare virtually everything to a Mustang. Knowing a moderately equipped mustang gt scratches the $70k mark is just insane, and I don't think I'll ever get over that.

Honestly though, what other sedan checks all the performance-oriented boxes the Type S does though? Especially in context of the above mentioned Mustang reference, I still think it's priced very fairly.

You're basically sacrificing driving dynamics engineering for features and build quality, for a net discount of probably $10-15k+ over most of its competition. Not a bad deal at all.
