Lease is almost up , should I trade for a 6speed or keep Auto

As the title says, my lease is due the end of this year. I’ve had the car for almost 3 years and it’s a 2023 Integra Aspec with tech package with 20k miles. I originally went with the auto due to driving 65 miles each way to work, now I drive 8 miles. So the dilemma is , do I call it a loss (the 3 years I’ve thrown money at this lease and start over) or should I just buy out the lease and keep this car. The car is not a track toy , I have a corvette for that, but this car does have Intake, BBK , Front Pipe, down pipe, Intercooler , Ktuner , Trans cooler and all the Acura accessories available (expect side skirts) . How much of this stuff is transferable to a 6 speed Manuel and can Ktuner be Un married and re married from auto to Manuel. I know at the end of the day the decision is mine, but I’m trying to get pros and cons to keeping this car or switching to a 6 speed. I do miss driving 6 speed but the paddle shifters are fun and my corvette is 6 speed .. so any input is appreciated

Financially, you're probably better off to simply keep what you have. Most car mods represent discretionary purchases and is money down the drain, but maybe worth the enjoyment. I've had several Porsche and Corvette track cars. The Integra Type S is not in the same class from a performance perspective, but it's a fun car. Its performance level is certainly sufficient for some fun and enthusiastic driving. If you're set on a 6-speed ITS, I would sell your current car as-is, buy the Type S and not touch it with mods. It is a well-balanced package that really needs nothing. The front suspension design and the LSD make a huge difference. It's the best front-driver I have experienced.

I have a unique perspective, owning two A Spec Techs, a 6MT for myself and frequently driving my teen son's CVT. The manual really makes this car. The CVT gets better gas mileage on the highway, all other aspects go to the 6MT. The LSD makes it grip better in turns, it feels quicker and Honda manual transmissions and clutches are the best in the business. I would go for a 6MT.

Agree 100%. My last Porsche track car was a 996 series GT3 with sport shifter. Obviously very different cars, with the GT3 in its own universe of performance. But in terms of the shifting experience only, the ITS is as good.

I'm not much of a lease guy, but I think residual value on the lease is a part of the equation. It possibly could be cheaper to buy one used than the lease buy out. Used car values were whack in 2022 if that's when you signed your lease.

You really have to weigh head vs. heart on this one. The heart would enjoy the manual more, but the head looks first to family finances. Good luck with your decision!

Imo u should ask yourself how long you plan to keep the aspec vs type s.

If ur able to enjoy a car for 8+ years, the money u 'lost' on lease and mods will be worth it.

If ur just gonna end up leasing another car after the type s lease is up, dont bother.

Try to test drive it thoroughly, it was a lock to buy a type s/r over aspec within 5 mins. Especially when i got to rip it on the hwy

Yeah everything should transfer over except for the trans cooler. Ktuner can be unlocked and transferred but any tune (other than base maps) is probably locked to the VIN. The 6spd with rev match makes for an easy daily driver.
