I'm just glad we got the Si power numbers for our 1.5L, China is getting the regular Civic power output.
If you're disappointed by the engine, you ought to take a look at the interior! It looks to me like they handed someone a picture of the 2022 Si interior and a few big rolls of synthetic leather and said, "Do your best."

I like the panoramic roof, even though it doesn't open, but the interior looks CHEAP.... cheap like when you order something online that seems too good to be true, then you get tracking information and it shows that it's going through Customs and you just know something's up... then it gets delivered and you open it and just go, "Oh c'mon, this isn't what was in the pictures!"

That's happened to others, right? It can't just be me.

Not at all disappointed, glad we got the more powerful option. While I'm losing some straight line performance, I'll be getting a much more nimble car.

Regarding the interior, I'd have to see it in person to know for sure. It doesn't look bad to me I'm the pictures and reviews, I've been in much more expensive vehicles that I feel don't meet the same level of "fit and finish." It's also on par with the vehicles it competes against for materials, cla and a3 both have synthetic leather, even though i think they get the option for real leather. Personally I prefer good synthetics over real leather, because (in my own experience) they tend to hold up better in the long run

To be honest though, I'm getting it to get a lift back si with active dampers and a heads up display.

Heā€™s referring to the disappointing engine and interior of the Chinese integra.

Oh, missed that. Still the base civic is "okay", and I haven't seen interior pictures since they weren't revealed with the original announcement. I am curious to see how the features and price (converted to USD) stack up compared to ours once released

Yeah, I'm sorry, I think the US Integra is legit--I think the Chinese Integra looks like... well... something that would have to be sold as an "Intogra" or something like that, know what I mean?

I'm in the same boat as you though--I feel just a little too bougie to feel great driving a Si today, and love how handy it'll be to haul junk in a hatchback. Plus all the extra features? ELS Audio, HUD, digital dash, heated seats, adaptive dampers? Sign. Me. Up.

Honestly I could do without a hyped up "3D sound" system, i prefer a system that uses standard speakers, so that i could upgrade to higher quality aftermarket, or at least have options if i had to replace blown speakers. Love a good HUD, heated seats can be nice, and looking forward to my first car with active dampers. Definitely wanna take it out on some twisty roads

Agh! I couldn't find any pictures of China's Honda Integra interior, it was this video where I saw it:

They open the door at 1:10... and I guess it's not terrible... but something about it seems off/cheap... is it just me?

But what's the rush? They've been busy--they announced the Integra 9 months ago, continued making the ILX into this year, and have already begun shipping Integras to dealerships despite rampant supply chain issues in a market that's overheated for both new and used cars.

Plus, they made the MDX and TLX for how many years before they dropped the Type S? The Integra was in the US for how many years before we got the Type R? Not saying we should have to wait that long again, but things take time. They benefit from drawing it out, the continuous press is good, and they aren't going to do anything that competes with the Summer unveil of the Civic Type R. Just my thoughts.
Previous gen MDX and TLX didn't have Type-S because there was no Type-S program.
Their Type-S trims were announced right after the re-launch of the Type-S branding.
But I do agree that it probably has something to do with the new Type-R's release schedule.

Itā€™s simple. You unveil the higher performance model along side the base and people will wait till the Type S comes out. This actually affected TLX Sales because both Base and Type S were unveiled at the same time only thing only the base power levels were unveiled while the 3.0T didnā€™t. So doing it this way is better then unveiling both at the same time.
That makes sense. Most automakers keep their mouths shut until they're actually ready to release the performance model.
I guess Acura needed to show what's coming first with the new Type-S program.
I need some info tho lol I need to figure out if I can wait.

I see what you mean. It could be the camera, but the seats look dull and fake carbon fiber looks tacky. Regular civic lights instead of Acura's better looking ones. I am jealous that they get the longer center console with rear AC, but it doesn't work with the manual.

The Integra was priced to be competitive as an entry luxury car, not to compete with the civic si/type r. Luckily the TLX type s already undercuts the price of a similarly equipped S3, M3, or AMG CLA. The Integra type s will likely remain a few thousand cheaper than the TLX type s, with more power and better handling than a base TLX, but less power than the TLX type s. I suspect it'll be low-mid 40s (US) if they don't add SH-AWD or mid-upper 40s (US) if they do. If I'm wrong about the price and not offering a manual, I'd jump on a type s. At the price I expect, while it will be extremely competitive for the market it competes in, it would need some real value adds for me personally.
TLX-S is supposed to go against S4/5, M3/440i, C43. The Integra's German competitors are A3, 2 GC and CLA.
So ITS would need to undercut S3, M235i and CLA35 in terms of pricing. I just don't see it being mid-upper 40s.

As a couple curveballs, I think the type s will get the larger panoramic roof that was displayed on the Chinese Honda Integra announcement, and the material on Honda's China Website. They might add ventilated seats, along with including heated steering. Also, after repeated comments from reviewers and launching in other markets, they may rework the center console to allow AC vents for the rear seat, but that is less likely.

I'm just glad we got the Si power numbers for our 1.5L, China is getting the regular Civic power output.

Chinese Integra is quite literally a rebadged Civic. That's why the powertrains' the same.
They do the same thing for other models like Accord(Inspire) and CR-V(Breeze). Same cars, different names.
It's because two different Chinese manufacturers work with Honda there.

They love putting those half-pano roofs on their Chinese market models for some reason. Chinese TLX-L had it too.

I really do hope they modify the whole section for next model year or at least for the mid cycle refresh.
But I thought the new Integra's only going to be sold in North America.

It's true the TLX-S should compete with the S4/5 etc. However if you price a S3 with options as closely as you can to the tech package, it ends up in the upper 50s or just over 60. The TLXā€S, undercuts the price even though it competes with the next model up, so the Integra-S is likely going to be priced between the base TLX and the TLX-S, instead of maintaining a comparable price difference relative to its intended competition

The half pano-roofs are because China sells rear seat amenities. A large portion of their population like to be "chauffeured", and it's a point of pride to be the caregiver to aging parents. The Chinese Toyota Sienna has a lift chair option that brings a 2nd row seat out the side and down just for this.

The Chinese one has a lot more Civic than our Integra, I suspect the only real carryover that isn't already in the civic is the digital gauges

Based on the road map, it seems like everything is still on track even with shortages.

Tlx and MDX type s had almost 18 months between releases, 5/20 and 11/21. The road map states the type S will be revealed in 22, so that really leaves us with a summer or unfortunately a winter reveal just before 2023 rolls around. My bet is winter due to the Type R in summer

A reveal sometime in Oct/Nov this year makes sense to me. That way itā€™s not too close to summer or Xmas. Start selling them April/May to take advantage of the springtime excitement re winter being gone.
