Got the rear trunk plastic removed, can’t figure out how to loosen the zip ties while also prying up on the spoiler that’s still held on my tape. Has anyone removed? Are they not supposed to be removed? lol I too am dealing with the clear coat peeling issue, and didn’t feel like going to the dealer, but know may have to/ ask if it’s a warranty replacement item.

If the spoiler was installed by an Acura dealership prior to purchase of the vehicle it comes with the same warranty miles/years as any other part on the outside of the vehicle. If not, then I think it would just be a 1 year 12k mile warranty, whichever comes first.. You can chat with Acura client services or call your dealership to confirm.

If it's not covered by any warranty then here's how I would go about removing it:
  1. Using a pair of needle nose pliers to pinch the bottom of the zip tie clip and pull it completely off the zip tie.
  2. Using some fishing line to cut through the adhesive until you reach the first tie on both ends.
  3. Cut the adhesive on the front and rear edges, one at a time, of the spoiler across the width of the tailgate.
    • You may go through a few pieces of fishing line in the process, but at least it won't damage the paint or the spoiler.
  4. Start carefully lifting it off and addressing any remaining adhesive still holding the spoiler to the tailgate.
    • You may want some plastic pry tools to wedge in between the spoiler and tailgate as you go.
  5. Use some mineral spirits, rubbing alcohol, or the like to clean up any remaining adhesive on the tailgate.
You may be able to combine steps 3 and 4, but you have to be careful not to bend the spoiler too much or it may cause additional damage.

Thanks, I’m going to call my dealer tomorrow. Managed to figure out how to get the zip ties undone, the corner ones under the grommet were a bitch, but once I figured out how the easier ones to reach came loose, I was able to squeeze and bruise my forearm in the process getting the corner ones out lol. Needle nose would not work, nor even just using flat part of my fingers, I had to pinch sides with my nails haha

Yeah, they're tough to get to. I have some long reach needle nose plyers, but it sounds like either you need to combine them w/ a panel remover tool or just use your finger nails. So much for a pain free removal!

Yeah I don’t know for the life of me couldn’t pinch them correctly and also slide them off with needle nose. Even the ones that are easy to reach literally had to pinch with my nails. Why did Honda make you drill new holes; and install this way when the stock spoiler already has holes and had two bolts lol.
