Visiting family for a funeral. Decided to go out to dinner and what not. Come back to my car and the door doesn’t open all the way…that’s weird. So I look and some <insert explicative> has decided to bend in my front fender on the drivers side. And this wasn’t a little ding but seems like someone was jealous, angry or both of the above and apparently I get to enjoy this guys frustration. Either way it is just a car. But it’s 2 months old and I never had an issue like this with my old car. Hope everyone stays safe out there and some people are just ***holes.

Sorry you had to deal with this. There are jealous and envious people in the world. Don’t give them any satisfaction of letting them anger move forward get it fixed and those people will have to face the consequences of their actions one day

I'm glad they just kicked it. I've had some weird shit happen to me in mine and I've only had it a week. I'm terrified to leave my car in places for long, and honestly my dash cam can't come soon enough.

It's also another reason I'm pissed we don't get any Acuralink services. Like, hello? You don't think we'd need alarm notifications on our phone with an even more expensive Acura??

I'm trying to come up with a way this damage could've been caused by another car (while assuming the other driver was aware they caused damage of some kind yet chose to drive off anyway, because people tend to suck)... but that really seems like something done intentionally and by a human.

I'm genuinely frustrated for you. Any chance you'll be able to get ahold of video that shows who/what might've happened?

^^ I was going to mention the same thing - that's personal property damage. I'd ask for videos & make a police report. Very sorry to hear you had to deal with this.

It sucks... but really guys it could have been anything. It doesn't have to be assumed that it was intentional. There's enough negative energy in the world, it really doesn't benefit anyone getting mad about something that for all you know could have been caused by a Jedi practicing his force powers.

Just saying.

All that said it definitely wasn't done by you so some due diligence on what you could do so you won't have to come out of pocket to fix it is definitely worth pursuing. Although- I'm not sure what exactly that would be outside of an "act of god" insurance claim.

In any case, yes... it sucks. My intent isn't to undermine that fact, just try to mitigate a little bit of the negativity that's all.

You might want to invest in a dash cam that has a impact or motion detection, so when things like this happen it will automatically start recording 30 secs prior and after the event then clip it for you. A friend of mine actually caught someone keying his car with his, and an array of other random stuff like runaway shopping carts running into cars etc. Good to at least know what happened especially for damage like this.

I'd recommend the Viofo A119 Mini 2 pretty inexpensive for what it offers as well.
