Are there other apps on the Autolinkr that could work with some other input source other than hondata?
Now that I think about my question more... I guess since Autolinkr can use any app, I can try getting my track tools on it as well as the data stream.

I'll set Claude to do some research and see what some options are...

Thanks for sharing results! Very interesting stuff

Edit: coming back from Claude research, could I bug you to check if Autolinkr allows installing of Harry's lap timer, race chrono, torque pro, or similar?

The elite model might be an option to split screen a couple apps like torque and HLT together

So I reached out to Autolinkr support to confirm a few things and quickly found their support is very AI driven. Great! I can set my AI agent loose on it and gather some better information.

I let them hash it out a bit yesterday and this morning I got some more clarity (email below). Specifically for my use case I'm attempting to have it act like a standalone unit and pull obd2, Garmin GPS, and g-force data. I confirmed on my phone I can run something like car scanner and Harry's together in split screen, but the next question is if the Autolinkr elite can handle two connections gracefully while using a no-internet wifi connection for camera trigger.

We'll see how much more info my agent can extrapolate while it escalates internally to their engineering team.

@Dvs1270 , I discovered the obd2 dongle i had was limited to about 1hz which is the reason I was having some issues. Seems a couple upgraded versions can run 5-10hz. I'll look for the fastest obd2 interface I can find to see how much smoother it is. It should be fairly significant if it can go from 1 to 5hz. I believe the hondata device is about 10hz on Bluetooth vs the 20hz+ it can do on direct USB. This alone explains why you got smooth data while I had struggles. Thanks again for posting this up!!

Thanks for the added details on your Integra Type S setup and that you are on a Samsung Galaxy. That is exactly the kind of use case where confirming the connection behavior up front really matters.

For your two app plan, here is what I can confirm today, plus what I am still working to get you a definitive answer on.

1. Split screen with Harry’s Lap Timer and Torque Pro on the device
AutoLinkr Elite supports split screen functionality, and it supports installing apps directly on the device through the Google Play Store.

Whether those two specific apps will reliably run together in split screen depends on the apps themselves, since some apps restrict multi window or do not behave well when not in full screen. The Elite cannot override an app limitation.

2. Dual Bluetooth peripherals at the same time, OBDLink MX Plus plus Garmin GLO
This is the key open item. I do not have a confirmed published spec that Elite can maintain two simultaneous Bluetooth peripheral connections to third party devices like a Bluetooth OBD adapter and a Bluetooth GPS puck at the same time, with each feeding a different app.

I am checking this with the team so we can give you a clear yes or no for your exact combo and use case.

3. Wi Fi connection to a GoPro hotspot or other local network without internet
Elite can connect to Wi Fi networks such as your phone hotspot or your vehicle built in Wi Fi, and there is an Auto Join setting so it can reconnect automatically.

One important limitation we do have documented is that the CarPlay side and the Wi Fi streaming side are separate modes, and if you switch into CarPlay features, Wi Fi and your phone hotspot will automatically be turned off. For a GoPro hotspot use case, that means you would want to stay on the AutoLinkr app side while connected to the GoPro network.

What I cannot confirm yet is whether the device will ever disconnect from a local Wi Fi network specifically because it has no internet.

Two quick clarifiers so I can make sure we confirm the right scenario when I follow up with the dual Bluetooth answer:
Are you planning to run Harry’s Lap Timer and Torque Pro directly on the AutoLinkr Elite interface during the session, or do you plan to switch into Android Auto at any point?
Do you need the GoPro hotspot connection active at the same time as the OBD and GPS connections, or is that a separate use case?

Once you confirm those two points, I will come back to you with a definitive answer on the dual Bluetooth behavior for your track setup.

Not sure about your software but as it stands devices like my Dragy will not connect. Lot holes, enjoy. I'm good for now, I'd love to track your progress.

Dragy won't connect to your hondata device or won't work/display on Autolinkr?

Hey @Dvs1270 how long did it take you to get yours? I ordered the elite two weeks ago right before price dropped from 300 to 200. I've had no tracking updates, their support is 100% AI, and I have hardly been able to get a human. The one human response I got was to tell me they're unwilling to price match (invoice) against their own price drop 🙄😑.

They seem very fly-by-night right now
