I know this might be a dumb question, but I accidentally scratched my car with my shovel while clearing snow. I was trying to be careful, but I was out there for hours and slipped up. Any advice on how to fix this small scratch on the bottom of my door?

This scratch does catch the fingernail, otherwise not that deep. I have experience using my touch-up pen on small rock chips, etc.

Most times that I have touched up small scratches, the fix was more noticeable than the damage. I would either buff and polish it as is, or pay a pro to fix it.

I would clean it up and clay bar first. You'd be surprised how many times I've seen something that looks like it's deep and catches a nail, but just ends up being a strong scuff. If it is so deep that's it's down to metal or primer, I've had great luck with multi stage paint kits where they send you primer, paint stages, and clear. Depending on the color (any pearl is tough) the match can be tough, so just make sure to sample

Yeah, I'm hoping its a scuff, but when I was dealing with stubborn snow, I accidently forced my shovel into my car. I knew for sure it damaged the paint, just had to look around for it. When your talking about the multi-stage paint kits, have you used any for the Integra or any other Honda paint?

Does it catch with your fingernail pretty easily? Oem PWP touch up paint actually comes out well but u have to be patient and give everything enough time to dry. I’d wait until after the spring pollen to give it a shot. I’d try with a good rubbing compound to see if ut gets out.

I chipped my door edge and used a multistage on my prp. Door edges are hard because of the paint bulge from factory, but it's not noticeable now unless you're a foot away and looking for it. On a bumper it would turn out better. You're painting with a brush typically, so it usually as good as you're willing to make it.
