I can't be the only one that thinks the wireless charger in our cars kinda sucks. Here's my take on a 3D printed version. Details are as follows:
  • Uses a standard Apple wireless charging puck
  • Hide the excess cable inside the body of the mount
  • Height adjustable for different sized phones
  • 3D prints in 3 pieces, screwed together with 4 M3x10 self tapping screws (although you could try to combine and print it in less parts)
  • Mounts with Command Strips and uses the USB A port as an alignment feature. This makes it removeable if you ever don't want to leave it in the car

Jan 11 2026 edit: I am updating the image to include the recommendation of 4 screws. I have added a Gen 2 Magsafe charger STEP file to the printables link. I have added a link to a set of self tapping screws.

Sweet design! One thing to note, your MagSafe charger is the first-generation. The second-gen charger is a hair smaller in diameter and thickness, so you'd likely need to make a second version for anyone who has a second-gen charger. Should be .5mm smaller diameter and 1mm smaller height. If you make a second version with that change, I'd be happy to print both and test the fitment for you.

Thanks @akoza for the note here. I had no idea! Please check out the link again as I have added a Gen 2 Magsafe charger mount based on dimensions I found online. Let me know how the fit is and I can adjust and upload a new version.
I have also made some small edits to my original post, which are noted above.

Awesome! I just printed both, and they fit well with their respective MagSafe versions. Only other things I'd add are:
- A note to NOT print this in PLA. It WILL warp if left out in the car on a hot day. PETG should be fine, or ABS/ASA if proper ventilation is used.
- Maybe join 3 of the larger holes (so it's more of an arc) to allow for easy removal of the MagSafe puck with a finger. I had trouble doing that with the current design since my fingers wouldn't fit in the holes, and I had to stick a small flathead screwdriver under the slot for the cable just to get any leverage.

Thanks for this feedback! I was used the blunt end of a cheap pen to push the charger out. Whenever I make my next revision I'll be sure to combine/slot the holes to make it easier for removal.

Thanks for putting this out there for us. Being an Android user, I was unsure if this would work since Pixel Qi wireless charging isn't the greatest and can be spotty. Now I'm here to say it does! I installed the mount to the side of the USB A port since I still wanted access to it and I was worried it could damage the port in the long run. It is still pretty sturdy if you mount the top as far back as it can go so the lower part can rest on the console.

In the slicer, I had to increase the size 104% of the charger disc to get the charger I used to fit. The screw holes were still in alignment to attach to the body.

@NOVABlueyITS Very cool to see this! I do have the same concerns on the USB A port and potential damage (hence the long legal disclaimer on the file link), so I plan to test the functionality after a few months. The odds of damage will also depend on the thickness of the command strips used and any other changes to the alignment to the port.
Let me know how the stability holds up long term without the USB alignment feature and if you have any other feedback.
