Haven’t went through the whole thing yet but it says 93 octane is recommended for Type S (page 619)! Maybe that’s where the extra 5 horses are from?

Yep. I guess that's how they are pulling the extra 5 hp.

That would be tough for buyers like me who live in a state where 91 is the best we can get

Keeps saying recommended fuel, so in a pinch I am guessing can do 87.

Odd that they didn't tune it for 91 since many states only for up to 91 octane.

I'm guessing it's 91/93 approved. Maybe the 5hp is lost on 91?

I think the hp bump is mainly going to come from the revised exhaust

I’ve now skimmed thru the manual and here’s some more Type S specific notes that’s not in the press release
  • p. 116: A stopwatch is available on the left side of the instrument cluster instead of the audio and time
  • p. 118: Turbo Gauge, G-Meter, Accelerator Position/Braking Pressure Meter available on the right side (these can be seen in the B roll video on the Acura news website)
  • p. 378: Gear position display is available and on by default
  • p. 442: You are warned that going over speed bumps can damage parts under the car (no warning for non-Type S)
  • p. 450: Shift Up/Down Indicators will display except the 2 > 1 shift
  • p. 549: Ignoring the Shift Up/Down Indicators for more than 10 sec will cancel adaptive cruise control
  • p. 628: Forcibly pressing on the engine cover may damage it and component parts

Super helpful. Where did you come across these and any chance they know part numbers for the titanium shift knob, all season mats/tray for type s? I’m trying to avoid paying msrp for accessories since we’re getting up charged $600 for paint?!
