Absolutely, it’s quite the car! Really glad I could drive the demo.
Feels bad because even if they ship this week, it’s a full month to get the cars to Portland—BMW can get cars here from Germany in as little as 6 weeks ?
For context, gold cars just arrived this week, and blue arrives in a few...
this is actually crazy lol. What's the issue with this LCM paint that's causing so many delays?
all 3 of my local dealer's "first 200" LCMs got pushed to 7/20-7/24.
What do you think of the M3 CS?
I have an order in at $5k over for a black car—it's just left the factory—but I'm on the fence whether it seems like enough of an upgrade over a competition G80 Xdrive. Big price gap.
FK8/FL5 torque curve is quite different from an ITS. The ITS gets much more torque much earlier. It feels more powerful, especially coming out of corners. But yes, probably easier to find an FK8 to drive!
Find a demo ITS that you can drive flat-out. Maybe find a different salesperson at the place you test drove with before. There is no official break in period with mandatory oil change like on an M3. My local dealer had one salesperson who let me drive it with no limits, and another who insisted...
No hard break in limit, but some people like to keep it tame for 500-600 miles before really beating on it. No oil change for it either. Only certain cars are engineered this way. My G80 M3 has a proper break in service at 1200mi, but an M340i does not.
Looks amazing! I honestly like the silver Acura badges on this color as it's a nice contrast. Maybe black Type S badges though? Love the gray wheels here!
Oh it’s great in the canyons. Like I said, 7 10ths is the sweet spot. Mechanical lateral grip is on the level of everything from a $65k M2 to a $90k M3, in large part due to the tires. The ITS/CTR feel the most rewarding when you’re just shy of pushing traction limits, going for a clean line
Oh absolutely. At-the-limit performance is very rarely observed by most drivers. That’s why I say that it does really excel at 7 10ths, which is where the vast majority of folks will be driving it. And it certainly does feel like a big step up from a more “average” car!
I see what you mean, but I would disagree with regards to the ITS in particular. It's a manual transmission sports sedan. The target demographic is, by definition, a limited subset of enthusiasts—Acura's own folks say this, and are only expecting it to comprise 10% of Integra sales. Maybe not...
Cheers man. I am comparing them so heavily primarily due to price. All the G8x cars drive pretty similarly, and the M2 is just too close in price with the ITS if you have to pay markups. FWD vs RWD is part physics and part preference, if you never push the edge of traction, there’s not much...
I've spent about 90 minutes total behind the wheel of an ITS on two separate occasions, from normal city driving to absolutely beating on it. clutch dump launches, wheel-skipping shifts, slamming brakes from high speeds, overwhelming tires in the corners, etc. here are my thoughts.
At $52k...
