I could see it in terms of them wanting to keep them separate wrt public perception… despite the cars likely feeling very different even if the both had manuals.
We very much need to see it in other production colors. It would’ve been a lot easier to forgive the decals if they’d done 2...
Makes sense to probably keep the CVT on the A-Spec… keep costs down.
As for the conflict with the CTR on the Type S /w 6M, if they skip it it’ll likely be more about cost than CTR. That’s a small target audience and there’d only be a subset of them interested in the heavier/tamer Type S.
Current guess…
- Base: Civic’s 6M and CVT, for cost and flexibility, they want to snag as many potential buyers as possible into the brand
- A Spec: 10A, little benefit of a 6M at a largely cosmetic trim level, DCT is aging and they don’t seem to be investing in it
- Type S: 6M and maybe 10A, if...
I wish Honda wouldn’t give so much time between prototypes and production releases.
There will be much bickering over the next months followed by sooo many called-its. Uggghh.
Agreed it is reminiscent of old Integras just not the ones everyone remembers. The GSR and ITR cast long shadows.
I remember when I saw the first Integra on display in a local mall. The new one feels like an evolution of that car. Ya they’re both a bit derivative but great nonetheless.
Many were happy to see the Integra return even if, for now at least, it’s essentially a nicely reskinned Civic hatchback. It remains to be seen if they’ve been able to create a unique vehicle worthy of it’s own identity or if they’ve just made another upgraded Civic.
What did they try to do...
The colour and writing on the side weren’t ideal… nor is the lower part of the front bumper. Def looking forward to seeing it in black/white/grey in prod version. I’m sure it won’t say INTEGRA on the side and I really hope they change the front bumper.
Possible but I’m expecting Base, A Spec and Type S. Seems like the pricing speculation that was going on was leaning towards 30K and 33K… can’t remember how people were getting those but they seem plausible for Base and A Spec… not Type S.
I’m just saying what I want :)
Their prototype unveils generally give a look at a vehicle that’s an amalgamation of a couple top trims and a vague timeframe on the initial release date.
IIRC they could go either way on a look at the interior. They likely won’t give an entire list of trims but...
Agree totally… Civics and the C8 vette come to mind. Then again, I’d have loved it if they brought the CDX here, and called it the Integra to drive all us enthusiasts insane.
Took a closer look and I think it does say INDIVIDUAL. Seems they didn’t need it on the Si so I guess they wanted to hype it up more on the Integra. Ok, but it better persist across restarts… but of course it won’t.
Agreed, it will but the car will go back into Normal when you turn it off. You’ll still need to select Individual every time you start the car.
Disagree that the button is for Individual mode. My guess is that’ll be chosen by the selector switch (like it says in the Si manual) and the top...
On the 2.0T, the Type S will likely get one ya and a version of the CTR motor probably makes most sense. Have the Integra built where the Civics are built, different shell but with all the same power trains.
They’re making a big deal of the manual in that video… I don’t think you do that to...
