  1. Mixing 91+100 to get 93 in California

95 Turbo GSR running 12s, which was fast back then, LOL.
  2. Mixing 91+100 to get 93 in California

I wouldn't chance running any leaded gas in these cars at all. It only took a few gallons to ruin the O2 sensor and hi-flow cat in my car in the 90s. Idiot at the track put the wrong gas in my car. I did hit a great 1/4 mile time though, LOL. But yes, we have race gas in CA including leaded...
  3. Mixing 91+100 to get 93 in California

Just because you aren't noticing things doesn't mean your car isn't pulling timing, it most certainly is. Whether or not that's a problem long term for the car is a different story, but at the very least you are leaving some hp on the table, multiple dyno plots and Hondata logs can confirm that...
  4. Autocross megathread

For what it's worth, I am running 5mm spacers without thread engagement issues with my Apex setup. Not that I think 3mm will really make a world of difference.
  5. OEM Center Cap Size

    I think they are 2 3/8", so 60MM
  6. Autocross megathread

If you are running 18s, it's hard to beat the 615s for $200 each. They are an ok DD tire if you don't get a true winter or have a winter set and they actually last a while as long as you aren't too focused on heat cycling out. Wish they came in 19s... Only downside is the Falkens are HEAVY.
  7. Autocross megathread

Haha, I am running the same, have fun in STU! Cup 2 heat is a real problem but it's relative. It's still going to perform better than our stock tires on a dry Auto-X, it just won't perform as well as multiple other tires. I have heard mixed reviews on the street, some say it needs a lot of...
  8. Autocross megathread

You can run the Honda specific 265 Cup 2s since they are 240TW, but most Cup 2s will push you out of street class (180TW). Issue with Cup 2s is mostly price, but also they need a good amount of heat, so they aren't super competitive for Auto-X and shouldn't be a good match for street use if you...
  9. Autocross megathread

Can not run anything below 200TW for street classes with SCCA so those are a no go. Also, as you stated, most of those tires won't get hot enough for street/Auto-X use. With regards to the RT660, I have seen that quite a bit, mostly on track use though. Having them heat cycled first seems to...

You're best bet, assuming you are staying in BS is to step down to a 18X9.5 rim with OEM offset +/- 7mm. You will have far more options on tires and likely be faster. Otherwise the Falkens are the only competitive option for 19s IMO. I really want the RE71s but it's not to be :(
  11. Autocross megathread

Agreed, I had the same experience in the rain, pedal dance might not always be faster, but it was never slower. People have fit 305s,, but you can't mount 305s to a 9.5" rim, 285 is max and even then most places prefer sticking to 275 if on track. Why not run the RT660s? 275/30/19. Otherwise...
  12. Official Licensed Acura Type S Autocannon Wear

Series one Type R sizing was tiny. Series two Type R and Series one Type S was made larger for us Americans :) I would say the sizing is mostly correct, leaning slightly towards the small size. I usually wear a Large and I went XL for the hoodie and it fits well. For a shirt I would probably...
  13. Autocross megathread

Were you doing the pedal dance before each run? I ask because the car will NOT rotate unless you do. I didn't have issue rotating (within reason for a FWD car) stock, but have the R6 RSB going on next week to make it a little easier, and as per above likely will be required when I get the RT660s on.
  14. APEX VS-5RS Centercaps

You only need TPMS and valve stems if you aren't reusing the OEM. For the lugs, any tuner lug in M14×1.5 will work. 14 is key as most Hondas and popular JDM lugs are 12. I am running Project Kics Monoliths, but lots of cheaper options.
  15. About to do first oil change

4 Phillips heads and 4 flat head half turns. For the flathead, just half turn and it should fall out. It's relatively simple, BUT, you might want to have a hand impact tool ready for the Phillips heads as a precaution. My two rear ones were basically seized in place and needed an impact tool to...
  16. Wagner IC

As the Wagner IC is relatively thin, and our bumper has a ton of space in front of the IC. Why not just run both of them in series :)
  17. Wagner IC

Are the charge pipes included in the price? I think it would be a better option as it would mean they could control the diameter throughout the entire run, as opposed to with PRL where you will always be limited by the IC inlet and outlet diameter to match up to OEM. I do love my HPS charge...
  18. Wagner IC

Has it even been confirmed it will fit USDM FL5s? I don't remember seeing nearly enough room to mount that with our front crash bar.
  19. 2nd gear grind

How are you guys even getting up to high rpms in first? I usually start to spin around 6K which is probably why I haven't had any grinds :) I think the reason the 1-2 shift is difficult for so many is the change in gear ratios, 3.625 to 2.115. For comparison 2nd to 3rd is 2.115 to 1.529. It...
  20. Windshield washer not so good

The HPS charge pipes already have the bung for meth injection, and using the windshield washer reservoir is a common stealth install. I only have access to 91 in CA, so I am considering it once I swap turbos.
