  1. Aftermarket wheel availability for 19s

Oh yeah I got them like 2 weeks ago. Logistics on my end was just a mess. I was just waiting on lug nuts and TPMS sensors and the like, and now just busy with work travel. I hope to have them on the car next week.
  2. What did you do to your Integra Type S today? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป‍โ™‚๏ธ

Yeah... I would probably still own a white M2 CS if the PPF job on it wasn't completely hideous and turned me off to the car entirely... but that was also just a terrible PPF job, not just the PPF on a white car. But after having similar issues on several white cars in the past, I honestly don't...
  3. List of Honest Acura Dealerships For Type S (MSRP vs Markup List -- Integra Type S)

Saw your location and couldn't help it. Congrats! Great deal, great color. Congrats, I saw your name in here again and figured "this guy is officially in the 'shit or get off the pot' category". That's a long time to wait when folks have been getting actual discounts for a few weeks at least...
  4. Defect in shifter/gearbox or is this normal?

The only time I've experienced any sort of grind is when I'm driving like a hoon. I've launched this car hard at autocross 30+ times and had it grind once, yesterday, during a short shift into 2nd. And I was wheel-hopping and I'm almost positive my left foot wasn't all the way to the floor. So...

That SUCKS! Is this something that you'll have to do on a continuous basis? Hopefully this is a one-time thing based off a "traumatic event", and not some sort of environmental hazard based on where you live and where you're forced to drive! It's awesome the film did its job- but replacing film...

I feel like this is a terrible analogy. I guess you could argue that both shoes and shifters could be chosen based on functional or aesthetic properties... but then again some people choose shoes that are notably non-functional (to the point of pain for some...) because they like the...

You shifter guys are all nuts, but to each their own. My sense is that if I have to throw different parts at it until I find something that feels good to me, it's a "ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of thing... But I get how some people enjoy these kind of things specifically for that reason...

If only everyone took care of their cars like this.
  9. did my first oil change (and what i learned in the process)

There are so many horror stories out there. I had to pay for a brand new ford 32-valve v8 in a Lincoln Mark VIII. Remember those? There def aren't any on the road anymore but they were pricey when new. ~$8000 for parts/labor on a $250 a week income. They didn't make me pay all of that but there...
  10. did my first oil change (and what i learned in the process)

I would personally never use a tool to tighten an oil filter. Make contact, and about a quarter turn after. Maybe less, it's been a while. If you're using a torque wrench I guess that's acceptable. You definitely don't want to overtighten an oil filter (god forbid it's cross-threaded....). Not...

Wow it looks so good! The black accents are fire too. I love it. That offset looks pretty great. Just springs, right? No pulled strut pins or anything like that (although I'm almost positive I'll be pulling my strut pins just to be faster at autocross anyway...)?
  12. did my first oil change (and what i learned in the process)

I changed oil for a living when I was a young lad, on a shit ton of different cars. I only ever needed two tools: But honestly? My most frequently used tool: It looks a little tight and yes they're usually on there pretty good from the factory, but 8/10 times you just get a good grip...

Your taste echoes mine very closely, if not exactly. I did go with Apex but they weren't my first choice- mostly I just got enthralled with the color. I'm very excited to see Satin Bronze on my PRP car. CE28s to my knowledge are not available in 19s. Advan GTs most certainly are, and there are...

Basically anything forged is going to be ~19-20 lbs. 18s would be lighter still. Flow-formed and you're looking at not as much gain over OEM, and you'll have to find out if they're actually heavier. I was looking at HRE FF and Gram Lights, which are flow-formed, and Apex has some FF options...

This is a good point, and TBH I didn't really consider it for too long because I just assumed you'd need a tune as it's upstream from at least one 02 sensor. I'm not interested in a tune at the moment, but possibly down the line. I'm sure it does sound great though. Anyone already interested in...
  16. ITS at Virginia International Raceway (VIR), 1st event

Yeah I would have at least considered a C8 had it been available in manual. Same with the Audi RS3, and Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio.
  17. ITS at Virginia International Raceway (VIR), 1st event

Ah, tires make a WORLD of difference though! And yes, the C8 is a faster car, on a track like VIR the ITS is not in the same universe. "Comparison is the thief of joy". If I wanted a vette I'd have bought a vette. Other than top down cruises in perfect weather, I don't like them lol. The...

I'll be doing an exhaust as my next mod I think. The car sounds great stock, just not loud enough. But also I don't want to overrotate, I'm too old to have a fart cannon. I'm strongly considering Milltek but that's the last part for me to overcome, is vids where it sounds like it might be too...
  19. Autocross megathread

I just got back from SCCA Autocross Level 2 School yesterday. Other than an unfortunate incident that cut my day a little short, I do feel like I learned a lot. A couple observations: - I was getting told all day to keep putting air in my tires. Pretty much after every drill, a different...
  20. ITS at Virginia International Raceway (VIR), 1st event

Good stuff, thanks for the detailed updates. As you point out, and as I just detailed in the thread I wish I didn't have to make yesterday, the most "fun" to be had at these events is the drive home, with your car in one piece. And another great point about being honest and realistic about your...
