I had a brutal plastic-on-plastic rubbing/binding/rattling sound from day one, which sounded like it was coming from the passenger door or glovebox. I took a bunch of stuff apart, lined pieces with felt, and no joy.
Randomly, I determined that opening the glove box and placing sideways...
In the old days, we'd call this phenomena "making oil" because when it was serious enough to matter, your oil level would go up in a noticeable way. I have to think that if you're not noticing short term excess oil level on the dipstick, it's not a problem.
The pops and bangs are created by...
I really feel like Honda has gone backwards when it comes to interior build methods and rattles. They used to take great care with wire harnesses and clips.
Does the Acura accessory knob come with any instructions? One thing I have come to learn about Honda over the years is that they include instructions for even the simplest, dumbest procedures with their accessories. Even the mud flaps come with pages of instructions and that should be obvious...
That could very well be from the original press fleet or dealer demos then. They make the cars in batches of 50-100 all in the same color, so a VIN of 150 would have been in the very first part of the model run, probably the 2nd or 3rd batch of cars.
The VINs and manufacturing dates might tell you if they are early press cars. Production ramped up in May 2023 for the 2024 model, and the first batch were used for press cars at the intro event. Obviously they have used other cars since then for press demos but this will at least tell you if...
That's going to throw off the speedometer quite a bit, so you might want to do the math on that. I don't have all the gearing specs for the regular Integra, but for the Type S that much difference in diameter (~2") would throw the speedo off by 5-7mph at typical highway speeds.
For sure, but it fits in with a lot of other half-assed stuff on the car. I have been a long time Honda fan and the build quality of this car has me disappointed. I am glad it drives so well -- I really enjoy it a lot and that is the saving grace.
Miata NDs have had transmission failures on...
Savagegeese did a video showing the ITS production line and they covered a lot of this. The way the factories operate now with JIT processes, there is hardly any inventory / storage or downtime. Raw parts/materials come in and then come out as a finished vehicle in a matter of hours or days...
Production of the MY2024 ITS ramped up in May 2023 and the first cars were delivered to customers in June of 2023. The cars are made in batches of 50-100 ITS all in the same color and each car moves through the factory, from start to completion, in a few days. The line then switches to other...
I remember that. I would be more likely to suspect manufacturing contamination in the system. It happens but it's not something I'd expect from Honda. When did you buy your car? Anything manufactured in Jan 2024 would probably have been in the second half of VINS for MY 2024 production.
Just on looks alone you can tell the rears are not Brembos. They would never put their name on such wimpy looking calipers. Actually, calipers may be an overstatement, they are more like clothespins.
I doubt the rears need to do much (besides vectoring, which apparently causes a shitload of...
I really wanted a white ITS mainly because white is so easy to live with and it looks good on the ITS with the black accents and dark wheels (not all cars work with white). But the white car I showed up to buy had peeling paint on the bumper corners and I wasn't about to take delivery of that...
If it happens even when the wipers are operating and keeping the camera/sensor area clear, that seems odd. The only time I get warnings like that in my other vehicles is when there is snow/ice/frost in that area that has not yet defrosted. But rain should not be an issue if the wipers are...
That line you see is because they do a sloppy job laying on the paint/clearcoat and there are thick spots on many corners and panel edges. In extreme cases I have seen drips and runs on these cars. Boggles my mind that Honda paintwork is that bad.
Also worth considering the M2, since it's so much better as a daily driver than the Supra but similar handling and a smidge faster (plus far better brakes). The Supra is smaller and lighter, which is a big advantage for a sports car but it compromises the daily driver aspect quit a bit. I've...
There are loads of blue cars around, just look on CarGurus and do a search within a couple hundred miles of your location. Back in the markup days they were telling me blue/orchid cars and cars with red interiors were "special", but when I shopped again 6 months later they got me a blue/orchid...
