  1. 1st Track Day ITS - Watkins Glen

When I was doing active track events, I put on track pads before leaving home, which is about 65 miles from VIR. After the event, I would leave the track pads on and drive home. Since the track compounds work (and transfer) and higher temps, by the time I got home, the cooler temps had allowed...
  2. 1st Track Day ITS - Watkins Glen

Tires, cars, and drivers are all important variables, but most of the street tires I used on track performed best with hot pressures in the 38-40 psi range. Mine were not front drivers, another big variable, and I find it believable that the best front pressure may be in the top of that range...
  3. OEM Tires

I've never owned this tire, but Tire Rack reviewed it, and rated it well. I don’t know how much water you were in, but any tire will hydroplane at its limit. I would have the alignment checked. I'm assuming the tires have good tread remaining, which is a critical factor in wet driving.
  4. Watch those potholes boys and girls

It seems that many owners today place their vision of aesthetics above performance. With 30 series tires, there is very little tuning available by manipulating tire pressures. With a more reasonable sidewall height, handling balance can be fine-tuned with tire pressure. With these silly-ass 30...
  5. Watch those potholes boys and girls

Not really. Many potholes are large enough to damage only one side of the wheel. I speak from experience. But, had it been a more reasonable profile tire, she might have had no damage! When you're essentially riding on the rims, there is little margin for minimal damage.
  6. Watch those potholes boys and girls

Reason 101 why these silly 30 profile tires suck. Car ought to have 17 inch wheels and 40 or 45 profile tires. Another example of boy racer form over function.
  7. TPMS Question

Actually, I think you should run a bit more in front. I use 38/35, and handling and tire wear are good.
  8. TPMS Question

What is the recommended pressure? I'm surprised that you need to do anything to the TPMS programming. But, it sounds like it's been done, "was adjusted".
  9. Possible fuel tank option?

Sorry, didn't realize we were discussing a racing application.
  10. Possible fuel tank option?

How often are you out of range of a gas station? One thing to consider, you're going to pay over $1,000 and scare away any future potential buyers or dealers.
  11. Undercarriage Pressure Washer - Worth the Money & Effort?

If you are willing and able to get on the ground, I don’t think that this gizmo will do much that you can't do with just the hose. I live in NC where frozen precipitation and salt are not season-long events. Often, we get rain within a week of the salt, so a good drive in the rain gets rid of...
  12. 2025 Integra A-spec Tire Size adjustment for comfort

I think the short answer to your question is yes. But if ride quality is unsatisfactory, I doubt that playing around with tires or tire sizes will solve your problem.
  13. Why did you choose a Type S?

Well, I have to say it, that's a very low bar. But, they seem to sell well, so I guess there are more teenagers than oldsters out car shopping.
  14. Why did you choose a Type S?

Congratulations on your plan, and I know you will enjoy the ZO6. After enjoying regular track events for about 12 years, I'm not interested in owning such a car as a second vehicle that sees only street use. But the track schedule is something I've decided is no longer appropriate to continue...
  15. Why did you choose a Type S?

I've been retired a few years, so age, financial and family considerations convinced me that it was time to give up the track and high-performance sports car hobby. The ITS seemed to offer a fair compromise of performance and utility, and the understated styling helps avoid the boy-racer...
  16. Newcomer - 2025 Integra TypeS

Car preferences are just that, and you will find many opinions on favorites, as well as some occasional rationalization for a recent purchase. But I'll offer a response for what it's worth. Before giving it up, I had about 12 years of regular track events, mostly at VIR. My first car was an E46...
  17. Stock tire pressure - anyone follow it?

Yes, most street cars need considerably more negative camber than stock for best handling. While not a direct comparison, my E46 M3 did great with -3.0 up front, performance street tires at 38 psi. Interestingly, comparing both stock, the ITS is more neutral and with sharper turn-in than the M3.
  18. Stock tire pressure - anyone follow it?

For normal.street use, I would just put them within your normal range and forget about it. In routine street use, you will not notice the difference caused by ambient temp change or driving. A seasonal adjustment from summer to winter temps is normal, but otherwise I don't believe there is any...
  19. Stock tire pressure - anyone follow it?

Cars, tires, and suspension setups are all different. When I was doing track stuff with RWD cars, I would have lost considerable front grip at those pressures. But I agree that the weight up front here should require more pressure there. That said, I am a bit surprised that it takes that much...
  20. Stock tire pressure - anyone follow it?

I checked the pressures yesterday and set all 4 at 35 (previously 38/35). There are a couple of close highway interchanges where I can safely push the car at reasonable speed. These are low-speed turns, and 60 mph is probably 80%+ of the car's capability. I can tell no appreciable difference in...
