I just test drove my first Type S a few days ago. The clutch seemed similar in throw length, slightly heavier in weight, than my A Spec with 10,000 miles on it. Others who have spent more time with both models might have additional input.
I'm thinking this was the cause. I had an Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT roll out of my driveway in similar conditions. Parking brake was still on. With low profile tires, this can certainly happen.
My son's Integra has been on the road since April with 5,200 miles, and is still at 40%. More importantly, it's been at 40% for over 1,000 miles and a couple months. Does that seem right? Will it drop much after 40% like the gas gauge does after half a tank?
Acura/Honda paint is certainly not the quality of the premium European brands. Knowing that, I still didn't get PPF as I don't need my car to look perfect. However, for someone who wants to avoid all blemishes, I would say PPF is more important with this brand than your past makes.
I leased an Integra A Spec Tech for my 16 year old son, and have had the ILX as a service loaner when my Integra needed service. I would say any of these work. I think the weak spots are as follows. ILX accelerates faster compared with a little CVT bog (not a bad thing for a teen driver!)...
As an Apex Blue A Spec 6MT owner, I agree with almost all of these pros and cons. Interesting to see they remain the same, if maybe at a higher degree, in the Type S.
BMW, Genesis, Mercedes and Volvo all have models with this capability out currently. I think Lincoln and Caddy might too. Slightly different than massaging seats which are on quite a few brands, including Acura's MDX Type S. My wife's Volvo had the micro adjustments and those seats were...
Very odd that the last settings don't work, or automatically not turning on max defrosting/heated seats if driven by outside temperature. What's the point of using if it doesn't warm/clear the car?!
Exactly this question. We have an A Spec Tech with the factory remote start. I know the manual says it preconditions, but I have not found that to be the case. I also find that once ready to drive, the car shuts off and must be restarted. Anyone using this with better results?
Congrats, I think you made the right choice and sounds like you got a great deal. I have the Apex/Orchid, and I've been surprised the orchid is not a huge chore to keep clean. You will love the 6MT and blue paint!!
I have the 6MT and my son has the CVT. Unless you have horrible traffic, go for the 6MT.
The CVT isn't a bad transmission. The 6MT is an amazing one.
They do feel about the same off the line under regular acceleration.
Nearby in Montco. I had an 07 TSX 6MT that I loved, and my 23 Integra A Spec 6MT feels very similar in space and performance. I'm sure the Type S will feel even better.
I had a loaner TLX for one of my services and it definitely feels more cramped. I never considered it due to the lack of...
