The current ILX has a DCT already. Admittedly the K engines are just out dated. I'd prefer if they revised them myself and gave it a higher redline and sporty geared 6spd, but I dont see them bothering.
Different for YOU. There are still lots of single people out there that barely travel with others. I've never needed more than a small coupe my whole life. Had a coupe in 2000, have a coupe now.
The problem is these are 2 different groups. The Integra STARTED as a 4 door. So that's the Purity, but the PERFORMANCE models were based on and mostly known for their Coupe versions (Type-R and GS-R).
That said I'd expect an Integra Coupe to fill the void left by both Civic and Accord coupes...
I put it to the same reason that Manual is losing market.
Companies put less on lots, knowing people are more likely to buy what is on the lot, not wait for an order to be delivered. So less are sold, then they use those numbers to show why they should put less on lots... because less are...
Has anyone seen dynos of the Acura 2.0T vs the CTR's? I know that the Accords 2.0t with a STG2 will have a MUCH better low and mid-range and the stock CTR isn't better till 6k+ RPM. Makes me eager to see what engine the Integra Type-S gets. AWD with a DCT and STG2 tune has potential to end up...
I feel like the market for a performance sedan isn't cross-shopping with any SUV. That if you are looking at a TLX Type-S you are BECAUSE it's not an SUV.
My biggest disappointment is the engine. At this point the market is FLOODED with 350-400HP 3.0TT engines in AWD sedans. And some of the competitors also handle better. To me the car is about 5yrs late drivetrain wise. I kind of expected them to have put it more in the 375-400HP range to stay...
The problem is the market isn't for people that ONLY have themselves and rarely travel with others.
That said I'm really happy with the TLX's design (They really should just rebrand it to Legend) so I have hopes for the Integra.
Honda needs a car that's NOT a halo car. More like a "halo for...
The days if having fun revving out any car are long gone. They are just too heavy now, so lower end TQ is just a must for daily driving now.
If they could keep it in weight range of the BRZ/86 then a 2.4 could be fun, but i doubt they can.
33.5K for A-Spec (basically a Civic Si manual drivetrain, with 19in wheels)
1.5T from Si for base motor
Est Sub 30K for base model
Interior similar to a Civic with nicer materials/colors
While I agree that right now there isn't much market for coupes, I personally prefer them. I also feel like the Integra really got popular for its coupe version.
What do you guys think? Does the lack of a coupe kill the car for you? Do you prefer a sedan? Or do you not really care as long as...
Personally, thinking that not much more than a set of springs and a tune would be needed for either trim to make it a fun car that punches a bit above its weight while staying refined.
It's been a long time since I've been in a smaller more nimble car, so I'm hoping this new Integra keeps that...
I suspect it will be sitting like something between a Upscale WRX competitor or a bit under an S4. I'm semi-expecting AWD, but I would be surprised if it got the Type-R 2.0. I'm expecting the entry level TLX 2.0T for the Integra Type-S.
