  1. Best Tint VLT%?

You could always ask them to just hold up a sample to your glass to get an idea as well. The other day I was in a poorly lit area and it was super dusty/smokey in Kansas city area. I couldn't see at a stop sign so I had to crack the window. Most lit roads it's not an issue. Out in the boonies...
  2. Rotating Michelin Pilot sport 4s for the first time

Could always just buy a 99c tread depth tool and measure yourself across the tire... Then rotate as you need to.
  3. Rocks keep getting in between brake and rotors

This. Or just remove it entirely and profit from the extra cooling. Just remember to get some cable insulation for the sensor and wire right next to the rotor. Happened to me the first time I drove the car on a chip sealed road, but hasn't happened since.
  4. Best Tint VLT%?

In the past I've typically done 35 and night vision in darker areas has been okay. Obviously it's still impacted, but not enough to where I felt "blind" like with 25.
  5. Best Tint VLT%?

I did 25% all around. 35% I could still see into the car. 25 is dark enough that you really can't see in much and it blocks a lot of light. I did not do the windshield. The shop was trying to convince me to do 5 on sides and rear with 25 front and I'm really glad I didn't. If there are no...
  6. EVS tuning adjustable lower ball joints installed

That's all sounding about right. With toe close to zero or slightly out, I'd bet most people would find the car fairly neutral to oversteer prone under trail braking. You'll find the 200tw need less tire pressure because their sidewall is a lot stiffer than comfy ecs or ps4s. More bar can be...
  7. EVS tuning adjustable lower ball joints installed

It definitely depends on many factors. Every driver is also different. Even in F1 the same team with the same car will run two different setups for each driver, and they play at a consistency level we can't comprehend. If you're harder on trail braking for example, you'll get more rotation and...
  8. EVS tuning adjustable lower ball joints installed

Depends on the tire really. Generally speaking for stock travel: A sticky 300tw or more endurance minded 200tw will like -2 to 2.5 up front on a mcstrut A super sticky 200tw -2.3 to 2.7 A 100tw -2.5 to 3.5 A 40tw -3 to 4 Tires that like higher tire pressure can tolerate lower camber curve...
  9. Plagued with a rattle [ Please Help ]

Could always have someone ride shotgun with a cheap stethoscope to pinpoint. It's really hard to do without spare ears sometimes. I had a friend with a camaro chasing rattles for months in his passenger door before he figured out it was hit shift knob because of a set screw, lol.
  10. Weird Flex (how low can you go?)

Just find a hill, got to neutral, and gently hold the brake. Watch the mpg climb ?
  11. Weird Flex (how low can you go?)

I wasn't going to say anything yet, but I swapped my air filter in the its with an afe dry filter (I just like being able to wash it, expected nothing else) and have been testing it. Oddly, the car no longer feels like it's being suffocated above 6200 rpm and my avg mpg has climbed by 1-2mpg...
  12. 3 of the most recent posts are about rattles.

Yeah, Mazda is very much more up market than acura these days. It's not the Mazda of old when they were heavily associated with Ford. Since their separation in 2015 they have been moving more and more up market. I had a Mazda 3 hatch rental late last year and several of my coworkers (they own a...
  13. Plagued with a rattle [ Please Help ]

Yeah it's really hard to tell from video. Do you have a mic with a windsock? That might help to clip it to the vent and capture closer to where it occurs. You could also capture in the engine bay to really hear the wastegate and ensure that's not resonating and messing with you.
  14. Back on Track

Srf and 660 are good fluids, and for most purposes identical. I've just had bad luck with them for anything longer than 3 to 6 months. Part of it I think is humidity. Srf claims a pretty high wet boiling point, and I'm sure that's true but I believe it also absorbs water faster over time. A...
  15. Back on Track

Here's how you know your tires are definitely done: These are toyo RR and have only 22 sessions on them. I'm getting my racecar ready for next weekend where a friend will shake it down for me while I instruct and drive the its. The toyo tires are complete crap. Don't waste your money on the...
  16. Plagued with a rattle [ Please Help ]

Is it a deep buzz or a high pitched rattle?
  17. Anyone Running Run-Flats on an A-Spec?

This. First thing I did on our q7 was ditch the run flats and throw a can of fixaflat and a small 12v pump in the back. No peace of mind is worth the extra mass and stiffness to me. The Q7 went from sedate to hot hatch with a tire change... If you just have to have a run flat, the conti are...
  18. Weird Flex (how low can you go?)

LOL, I average 18 or so because I'm usually doing 3-7 mile trips to daycare and the grocery store. I get about 180 miles before the light comes on. ? Same routine and same size tank in my gti I was doing 22mpg and 220 miles. And that was tuned, pushing even more hp. ?‍♂️
  19. Weird Flex (how low can you go?)

With legitimately high g on track you'll start to starve at around a 1/4 tank in this car. I have antisurge in my other car and it can run the tank almost entirely dry. It starts to really sputter under any throttle when it has a half gallon left and has to be limped back in. It takes about...
