Nice to hear that you get used to it. I did a quick search of new Golf R's on autotrader.ca and there are well over 300 right now, some with some pretty good deals off MSRP. But the heart wants the ITS :).

Thanks for the info, super interesting...I would be open to white and grey as well, but I have never been a fan of the red interior, so it really limits my choice if I want an ITS. I think I might just see what the situation is like in 6 months from now...my backup plan is a Golf R, but really...

I got a disappointing message from my dealer yesterday saying that my first colour choice (Silver) was not an option for ordering, but all the other colours were available to place an actual order. Does that make sense to you? I am still about a year away from relocating back to Canada/Vanc...

Happens all the time to BMW's as well...I remember the first time it happened to me several years ago, it sounded like the car was about to die. But as others have mentioned, it is just small rocks getting stuck and either slight bending of the shields or going into reverse and forward cured it...

The ultimate test of loyalty...if you had to do it all over again, would you still buy an ITS? And if yes, exact same spec you picked up?

Interestingly, there are a few examples of cars in Canada that are bargains compared to the US. I was looking at ordering a brand new cayman GTS 4.0 a few months ago (I missed out, not taking orders anymore) and it was a huge price advantage vs the US. IIRC, MSRP was under $100k CDN.
