Observed this while I had the hood open yesterday and rattling it around by hand, the pitch matches what I hear when coasting. I only looked briefly but it seems maybe just adding a little mass to it might cut down the vibration. Or maybe a little hi-temp anti-seize on the interfacing surfaces...
Thanks for posting up your impressions. The fitment issues sound solvable, hopefully. I noticed the rough interior or the airbox in some of their pics - did you feel like the interior of the post-filter area was also excessively rough?
What is your impression of how future filter changes will...
I also get the faint, high-pitched squeal when I let off the gas. Most noticeable with the windows down, and especially if I’m driving next to a surface that can reflect the sound back. Too consistent to call a rattle or screech, it sounds more like when a servo is hunting for position. If I...
If I’m understanding you correctly, then no, a wider tire or wheel does not affect scrub. Offset is measured from the wheel centerline, so regardless of the width it will dictate where the centerline falls in relation to the hub mounting surface.
I suppose a taller (or shorter) tire would have...
Yesterday morning was 36F when I left for work and I noticed no adverse effects. My commute is ~10 minutes of backroads, followed by 10 minutes of highway. The car is garage-kept overnight.
My new wheels and A/S tires are due the first week of November.
Strange. I guess you will find out after you put some miles on the rotated tires, whether it was a fluke or due to the car/your driving habits. However there are a gazillion FWD cars on the road and you don’t hear about this kind of uneven wear typically.
Do you know how much tread all the tires had when you bought the car? Maybe it came with one tire already worn from someone launching or consistently scrubbing a tire while cornering hard. Just looking at how you describe your ownership of the car I’m inclined to agree with your assessment, but...
The notch in the armrest bugged me at first, but I got used to it quickly and seem to have no problem finding a spot to rest my elbow any more. I wouldn't let that hold you back from everything else great about these cars.
I ha
I had Enkei PF01's on my other car for several years and they were great. Was seriously considering their GTC02 (or even the Triumph) for my Integra but decided to go with OZ Leggera HLT's, and I kept it 19x9.5 for tire compatibility with my stock wheels as an alternate set. All three...
Switched my Tire Rack order to 275/30, picked up a little sidewall and rim protection, and saved $100. The rep mentioned that it was listed as an "approved size" for the ITS, for whatever that is worth. New wheels are on order and should arrive the 2nd week of October.
I seriously considered...
This looks great. No issues at all with the 275/35-19 and +45 at stock height? I went with a +51 wheel and am also keeping the car stock height for the time being. I like how the 35 profile fills the wheel arches, and gives more protection against crappy roads.
Awesome - thanks. Both routes are tempting! I do love the lowered look, but found on my last fun car that I really appreciated the suspension travel of stock height (the car is still lowered on Bilstein coilovers however). What suspension mods are you running in the pics above? Edit: nvm, I saw...
Thanks for the feedback. Did you ditch your stock wheel/tire setup? I’m just going to alternate with those until they wear out and decide then if I want to run seasonal setups.
Still happy with the 275/30 setup? I just ordered some 19x9.5 +51 wheels with 265/30 DWS06+, but thinking of switching to 275/30 just for that little bit extra meat on the tire. Plus it's less expensive.
I'd like to believe i can keep this car stock height, but pictures like these make me...
