which tuner do you prefer for just your daily driving and do you think one brand is safer then the other?
I can't speak on others because I haven't tried the others. Just looking through forums it seems both hondata and ktuner has had alot of success with honda acura platform and both seem to be reliable. For me it came down to price and I was able to snag a used ktuner kit for half the price. So far the tune has been great and I have no complaints so far. You'll get alot of bickering from those who feel one is better than the other but in the end I knew I was going ktuner because I heard their base maps were good and their power curve looked good.

sounds good, I'm not looking to push the limits on my car, I just want to add a little more power and a better driving experience so I'm a little torn which one to choose.

If you'd like to see some long term stats from the 1.5T community the CivicX forum has a great compilation, although very small in its overall representation of the community. Only 1,010 people added their vehicles and experiences so far, but there are so many more out there that are tuned. So for someone like me who just thinks he wants a little more go without much muss or fuss, would something like the V1.2 with one of the Phearable tunes installed be a good way to go? From what I believe I understand, if I only install one map, that's the one it will default to, even with the KTuner removed from the OBD port.

Or, since it's pretty unobtrusive, I could just leave it plugged in and then could use TunerView on my phone or tablet, if I wanted.

Sound about right?

Yep that's right . I only use one map. 17psi in normal comfort/ 19psi in sport. But you have the option to setup another map and add more boost. Let's say a type r wants to battle lol your not going to win but you can quickly switch to map 2 21psi and let her rip and then calmly except defeat with dignity and switch back to your regular map lol.
