How does it feel with the adapter?
Not sure I'd consider the shifts "shorter" but definitely more firm; the shifter centers itself and finds gears easier.

Tearing apart the console was nerve-wracking and a pain but I was able to install without removing everything. LMK if you need any other info.

Was it as bad as shoving your hands through the dash in the EP3? If not, it appears honda is making progress.

Pretty easy to cover up. I did have some wrinkles that annoyed me but was able to work them out with a squeegee tool over the past few days.

Im planning on doing the same with my integra. Did you use a hair blow dryer? Or an actual heat gun?

Wrapped with VViVid Honeycomb Pattern and added Acuity Poco shift knob. Have Sirimoto Krispy shift bushings and adapter installed. Much better than the piano black. Plan to wrap steering wheel surround next. Take your time and use heat.

You’re also doing the piano trim on the steering wheel? How will you do that? I found some carbon fiber covers to go over the trim but how would you wrap the trim?

Yes, I did the trim on the wheel. You need either disconnect the negative battery terminal or remove the horn fuse first otherwise you will endlessly beep the horn.

Then, to pop off the horn/airbag assembly to remove the trim. There are holes on either side of the wheel and one on the bottom. Insert a screwdriver to release the spring detents. I set the horn/airbag on top of the column to get it out of the way and hold it in place.

There are two phillips screws that hold the trim in place. Remove them and you will be able to pop the trim. Then, disconnect the audio and cruise control harnesses on each side. I was able to fish the trim around the horn assembly while it was still connected without disconnecting the horn/airbag.

Once it was out, I removed the audio and navigation controls and brushed aluminum bottom portion of the wheel.

I am not responsible if the airbag blows up in your face so good luck and be careful!

Just a blow dryer and a new utility knife blade. The dryer heats up extremely well but it is an old POS that my wife kindly donated to me.

I opened the door panel to put some tape on the speaker grill since it was rattling a bit. Just put some tape on the clips so it would be more tight and not rattle. I did notice it may be possible to take out the ambient light led. I was thinking I can take the led and tape some Red Gel filter to make the light red. Do you think this might be possible?

The poco knob is a big improvement. It brings the shifter down to a better level for me and just feels nice. I was afraid I'd be punching the surrounding trim but there's still enough space to shift comfortably. I sprang for the insulated one because my hand froze during my first test drive so I knew the metal had to go.

I was able to do the shifter base bushings at the same time without dismantling the whole console. The front left bolt was a pain since it's under the cable linkage, but I got a few clicks with a ratcheting box end, enough to get it done. Having small hands helped too.

Now to wrap that gaudy gloss black.
