Has anyone had issues obtaining OEM windshield replacements? I’ve had one on order with safelite for the past two month and it still shows the part on back order with no estimated ship date. The crack in my windshield has gotten so bad that I had to cancel my order and schedule an appointment to have aftermarket glass installed. A little worried aftermarket may mess up my driving assist functions.

I see that for the 23+ Tech A-Spec windshields that yes, they are on back order at the moment with no ETA. I don't see any dealer in the country with one in stock either. Sorry.

Aftermarket is fine. Just make sure Safelite recalibrates the glass. Also for some reason they won't install the glass if your gas tank is not full.

Update: Aftermarket glass got installed today (Fuayo glass). All the sensors appear functional. Funny thing is I asked my dealer about it when trying to locate OEM glass and they cautioned that the sensors wouldn’t calibrate with aftermarket glass. Looks like they were just trying to make a few bucks…

Fuayo is the largest auto glass manufacturer and probably produced the factory glass.

Probably. Safelite had the factory glass on order from a company called Central Moulding out of New Jersey.

Good info here, Fuayo is the industry leader. I have their replacement front windshield in my AP2 currently.

Just curious, did your dealer say the OEM sensors would not calibrate with aftermarket glass or did they simply imply it, cautioned you is the term you used. Were they 100% or maybe assuming? Just curious.

They said it wouldn’t calibrate at all with aftermarket glass. His exact words were “if you can hold out for acura glass I would. The sensors won’t calibrate with aftermarket glass”
