Weird outward dent on liftgate

Anyone seen this before? Installer who did my downpipe/front pipe found this when getting the materials out of the trunk.

I had the dealer install the carbon fiber spoiler a few weeks ago so I'm thinking something happened when they were drilling a hole in the top but it just seems so far from that area that would be wild.

It's bulging outward so I don't think it's anything I did by hitting it.

Will be contacting them to fix it (under warranty) but curious if anyone has seen anything like this before

kind of hard to tell if the bump is coming in or out but i assume it's the part where it has a paint chip and a bit of rust. Kind of looks more like someone accidentally bump it with a flat head since there it looks like a small gash as well. You can try to call the dealer but you mention it was a few weeks ago, but more than likely they will deny it. Good luck though..

Edit: Looks like it's damaged on the inside. I would just use touch up paint and call it a day.

It's definitely dented outwards. You can feel the bump pushed out when you run your finger across it. I'm mostly just worried about the rust, since it's definitely rusting.

Remove all rust with something with a pointy tip. Clean with rubbing alcohol and let dry. Use a dab of touchup paint. Forget about it unless you ever see rust again.
