If you do all of that you've kept the inside face in the same place, moved the outside face out by 1", and moved the centerline of the tire by 0.5" (or 13mm).

If you wanted to add an inch of width and keep the centerline in the same place, you would have to keep the 60mm offset, and then figure out if there's enough clearance on the inside. (I think there is.)

You're definitely correct regarding centerline. Wider wheel, centerline moves from inside face by half the width increase if the offset face is maintained.

However, there's also camber to account for. With some negative camber you'll distribute more weight on the inside of the tire. Wider wheel/tire will still put more pressure on the inside of the rim and the rim inside lip will still be in the same place vs just moving it out by 13mm.

So yes, it will still impact torque steer because the footprint will always be a bit wider, but my point was that it will impact it to a lesser degree because the drive/grip track is still narrower between the two wheels when inner face distance is maintained.
