TSP Hibiki Exhaust, TSP Downpipe, and 27Won Front Pipe Sound Clips - 1.5T 6MT

Wanted to share some sound clips of my exhaust setup for anyone looking to do something similar. As the title says, I have the TSP Hibiki valved exhaust with resonator, TSP high flow downpipe and 27Won front pipe.

This is what I used to record sound levels:

Revving with valves closed. Max dB: 80.5

Revving with valves open. Max dB: 85.7

There will be resonance in the cabin if you have a RMM. At cruising and highway speeds there is no drone. I did also add sound deadening in the trunk.

I was leaning towards getting the MBRP exhaust, but after seeing this post. This is exactly what I want! ThisTSP hibiki is the one you got? No fitment or installation issues? Their site currently says it hasn't been test fit on the de4 yet.

Yes sir thats the one. This is the first exhaust I've ever installed and I didn't have any issues. It uses slip joints, so you just have make sure everything is straight before you tighten it down.

Power-wise I'd lean towards 3" to keep it the same from the downpipe out, but I take it those might be raspier than 2.5" and I just think yours sounds exactly the way I'd want mine.

The price really, compared to PRL's and RV6's front pipe. According to 27Won there is no additional performance benefit past 2.5". But is that just marketing? maybe lol. Im sure going with a 3" front pipe will increase the volume of the exhaust.

Also the TSP exhaust bottles down to 2.5" where it meets the front pipe before it expands to 3". The 27Won front pipe meets up nicely to it.

Good to know! If the exhaust connects at 2.5" then I suppose there should be no losses going 2.5" front pipe. 27WON is usually super transparent about their R&D process and go in depth about most of their products, there must be a reason. Thanks for sharing! Very valuable info!

Agreed - But given a 3" downpipe and exhaust, in your experience, would a 2.5" front pipe ever give a reason to upgrade down the line if making more power? Tune, big turbo, etc.

Depends on if you're chasing numbers or not. Also depends on where you're at with your build.

For 99% of cases (unless you're going for a crazy build), the 2.5" is fine and swapping to a 3" will not give you enough gains to write home about. The higher the HP (let's say 400 or so), sure, you may start seeing a little bit of a difference by going for a 3" frontpipe.

I'd love to sell you a 3" frontpipe, but if you're keeping it in the ~300whp range, there is really no need. I'd hate to see someone "waste" their money so to speak on minimal gains, especially with car parts being so expensive these days.
