Hi,

Did any of you remove the plastic cover around the head-up display area? If yes, can you please point me to instructions or explain how to remove it?

I heard a rattle from this area after the car was under sun for a few hours. Noticed it when I came to a stop, the car was in 2nd or 3rd gear right before I engaged the clutch. Nothing crazy, but if it's easy to remove, I would add some felt tape there.

I had that issue with my 2019 Accord. I solved it by pressing down on the window and putting a couple of rubber washers between the window and the cover. It solved the problem.

Edido,

Did you ever manage to remove the HUD bezel?

-Tom
I didn’t try yet. I got some felt tape, and still plan on doing it. I want to visit my dealer and ask for instructions on how to remove it. I didn’t find any instructions online.

I did some more digging. It appears that you have to remove the entire dashboard to remove the bezel. I double checked this as I removed all of the dashboard trim + the instrument cluster. You can get to the area where the HUD is mounted and you can see the Bezel from underneath the dashboard once the cluster is out. The HUD appears to be mounted to the dashboard. The bezel is screwed into the HUD. The screw ends face the windshield! There is no way to get at the screws without taking out the dash!

I found instructions on the dash disassembly/removal. The last step, after the dash is out of the car, is removal of the HUD.

This is frustrating as my bezel is scratched to hell and I wanted to replace it, but to get at it will be several hours of work.

Attached are the dash removal instructions, (which I found on this forum I believe).
The cluster lens removal PDF is also from this forum. The dude did a great job of documenting the removal of the cluster. The steps overlap with the dash removal.

Keep me updated if you manage to do it.

Here is a YouTube video for dash removal on the Civic. (very similar)
