Hey all,
Some of you may already know me from here and other forums. If you haven't, I'm Ash, and I have invented a pure digital integration solution for Honda vehicles equipped with Bose from the factory. The product line is called PURE.

While there is a lot more detail worth reading on my website, what PURE does is allow you to install an aftermarket Digital Signal Process (DSP) and fully integrate it into your factory sound system without having to resort to speaker-level integration which ruins the sound quality of an aftermarket installation. You can fully bypass Honda's sub-optimal factory sound processing and instead receive a pure, unaltered digital signal from the factory head unit, while still retaining the factory volume and functional controls on your steering wheel and infotainment screen.

The very best thing is, PURE is plug-and-play with respect to the factory wiring - you don't need to cut or splice a single factory OEM wire or harness, which means no warranty issues, and you can revert the vehicle back to stock in the future very easily. I have a very technical FAQ on my website, so if you have questions, that's the best place to start!

I'm also happy to answer any DM's so please don't hesitate to reach out. Looking forward to helping you build the sound system of your dreams soon!

Best,
-Ash, S2i Audio

Graciously-provided video and pictures from a client from Switzerland!

As you can see, he creatively drilled holes in the OEM amplifier bracket to secure the PURE onto - fits like a charm!

And here's a short video showing the volume control at work - smooth as butter (apt choice in soundtrack too hehe)

It occurred to me after someone just asked me in DMs, that I should let yall know that the user/installation manual is posted and has a lot of information that you might find useful if you're considering PURE:

FREAKING HUGE UPDATE.

I have just released PURE Gen2 for sale, side by side with Gen1. Both are active products on my website so this isn't a "coming soon" post. :)

Here are the deets on why Gen2 was made and why it makes sense to continue selling Gen1:

PURE ships in two hardware generations, sold side by side. Neither replaces the other, and the right pick depends on the DSP to be used, and the controls you need.

Gen1 and Gen2 differ in how they control volume. Gen1 adjusts volume through the DSP’s wired analog remote-control input. It therefore requires a DSP adapter matched to the processor which is included in the sale.

Gen2 requires no DSP adapter, as it performs volume attenuation internally before it delivers the digital SPDIF signal to the DSP. This broadens the range of compatible processors and frees the DSP’s remote input for accessory digital controllers like Helix's Conductor or Director, for example.

Retaining the wired remote architecture means Gen1 can also support integrated subwoofer-level control, unlike Gen2. Additionally, Gen1 is able to take advantage of DSP's with adjustable loudness contours while Gen2 cannot.

Which Generation is right for you depends on the features you prioritize:
  1. Get Gen1 if you want subwoofer level control capability from your head unit, and/or intend to use your DSP's programmable loudness contour. Just make sure you have a compatible DSP first.
  2. Get Gen2 if you want to be able to use DSP brands like Audison, or any other than uses digital-only remote control interfaces, and if you want to use your DSP's own advanced digital remote control for preset switching, tone controls, fader and balance etc.

Greetings all! Sorry I haven't posted in a while but it's been for good reason - the reception on PURE has been strong and I've been focused on product development, growth, customer support, and securing B2B relationships! I have added a B2B section on my site which shows who is reselling AND installing PURE in North America, and more names are being added regularly (a big one for Canada will be added at the end of this week once they launch the line!)

One of the outcomes of all of the interactions with both B2C and B2B customers is useful feedback on product. For example, the Gen2 model is considerably more popular than Gen1 due to being broadly compatible with DSP manufacturers while Gen1 requires specific DSP brands to work with. There are still some technical and financial reasons why Gen1 might be preferable, but I'm going to let the customer base dictate my strategy rather than being stubborn. As such, I have discounted the remaining Gen1 units and will not be manufacturing more, so if you want to save a good chunk of cash, now is the time to pick up a Gen1 unit for your car.

The next update is really exciting for me, and I hope for many of you. I am working with two well-known manufacturers to put together PURE+DSP "bundles" where you can buy both products from me, and I will provide a custom-made plug-and-play harness to use with the DSP, along with a configuration file that matches your vehicle's speaker layout already, so all you need to do is install and tune. Later on, I will likely add an option to the bundle for speakers with adapter plates and wiring adapters for a full system replacement, but I'll be starting with just the DSP's first.

I'll be able to reveal which brands I am working with for these bundles very soon.

As always, please post here or DM/email me with any suggestions, questions, or requests. S2i is community-driven, and always will be.

Best,
-Ash

Expanding our partnership with Arc Audio, we are now also offering pre-configured turnkey sound systems. We pair high-end Arc Audio equipment with our PURE digital integrator, extracting the most out of the incredible Arc hardware.

We will build you a custom-configured full system with signal harnesses customized for your vehicle's layout. An optical cable is included, as well as all necessary speaker mounting brackets for a direct OEM-like installation, without modifying the car permanently.

Power wiring and amplifier installation accessories (fuse blocks, etc.) are not included and must be supplied by you/your installer.

You have three choices of system, set up as performance tiers:

  1. "Enthusiast" - this may be the entry point, but it's still better than most high-end factory sound systems! We set up the front stage with Arc X2 components, X2 coaxials for the rears, and a small-footprint 8" X2 subwoofer. All of this is driven by the single-chassis X2 800.8 DSP amplifier - a small powerhouse!
  2. "Audiophile" - this is where you really start to pull away from the aftermarket pack, with genuinely high-end "AS" series speakers for the front stage and fill, which are components this time in the rear. While the system is still based on the X2 800.8 DSP amplifier, a second non-DSP X2 amplifier is added for the subwoofer, allowing more power to the front stage and the larger sub. This system gets LOUD and CLEAN at the same time.
  3. "Competition" - this is for the person who doesn't want to make any compromises. The absolute best speakers are used in the front and rear, and the subwoofer is upgraded to a 12" SQ beast. The front midbasses get a whopping 250 watts each and the sub gets 800 watts. Why so much power? Dynamic range. If you want a sound system to be able to transport you to a concert environment, you need dynamic range for those moments that cannot be reproduced by lesser systems.

The ordering process is simple:

  1. Place an order indicating which Tier you want, and whether you want us to supply you with a non-custom subwoofer box, or if you plan to make your own you can exclude it.
  2. We get in touch with you within 24 business hours and confirm your vehicle and discuss any unique configuration needs.
  3. We build the kit and pre-program the custom I/O configuration to your DSP before shipping the bundle

If you aren't sure what you need, feel free to get in touch with us prior to ordering and we will gladly advise you!

Also, we can customize! If you want something a little different than the above standard configurations, or if you want to utilize different/additional speaker locations, send us a note before ordering. We can custom-configure a system for you.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Your DSP will still need to be tuned by your installer / yourself if you are experienced, but the heavy lifting of setting up the right I/O and analog/digital signal mixing for the car's infotainment sounds will be pre-configured, and the harnesses will arrive terminated, labeled and pre-connected for a convenient installation.

This is a custom build-to-order package so there is effort and cost involved to build harnesses, order the speakers and DSP, build speaker adapters, and create/load the I/O file for the DSP. All sales are final once orders have been placed. We appreciate your understanding.

The Acura Integra with ELS Studio also has a 3" midrange in the doors, from the factory. In order to maximize the performance of these systems, we include a 2.5" AS250 midrange for the "Audiophile" Tier and an RS 3.0 for the "Competition" Tier, only. The "Enthusiast" Tier remains a two-way front stage to keep in line with that Tier's low-cost/high-performance design goal.
