Hey all!

Can tuning/ECU flashing make changes to specific parameters of the exhaust system? Specifically, and I'm willing to admit this may be sacrilege here, I'd like to change the "Sport" setting to have the exhaust valves closed but still have the pops, as I feel that sometimes the louder valves open setting overshadows them.

That said, I'm ignorant to what module(s) actually control that or how this could be achieved (if at all). Ideally the exhaust itself wouldn't need modified because I feel the factory setup has a nice sound and a lot of the aftermarket stuff adds too much rasp (in my personal opinion). Thoughts?

Thanks!

Yes you can do that with a custom tune, and a lot more around when/how the valve opens in what mode and how much. I had my tuner mess with my setup with an aftermarket exhaust to get what I want.

With valve closed the pops will become a lot quieter as well. They happen much further upstream in the exhaust.

This is exactly what I was looking for (and incidentally answers a follow-up question I had ready as well) so I appreciate the insight - thank you!
