Here is a link to a blog from System Motorsports who have fitted the FL5 with different setups and I messaged Thomson Ho the owner who said that the FL5 has info is the same for the DE5. Stick with offsets that are +42 to +45 on 9.5” wide wheels for flush fitment and no rubbing on 265 wide tires in general. You will have a bit of poke with +38.
I didn't want to hijack the original thread so i decided to start a new one.

thank you for this link. I'm new at this so please bear with me.
are the DE5's (which i take are the Type S) similar in spec with the A-Spec in regards to wheel fitment? what i'm trying to understand is, based on that blog, a 265/35 on a 18x9.5 wheel looks perfect on stock suspension, and it doesn't look chunky, for a better lack of term.
i just acquired a set of wheels, Enkei TSR-X. the size is 18x9.5 r18 +38. at the moment, i'm trying to decide on what tires to get, and i'm stuck between these 3 sizes:
255/35 18
255/40 18
265/35 18
i would like to have a not so wide of a gap between the tire and wheel well lip. as far as the tire itself, i don't really care for the chunky look. what i mean by that is this; when i got the wheels, it came with 245/45 18 tires (pictures attached) and i feel like it's way too meaty, or chunky. not only that, i think it's way too tall. being flushed would be good, but I don't mind if it pokes out a little bit. also, if at all possible, i would like to keep the suspension stock.
so with those sizes i listed above, which one would be perfect for the wheels that i have? and also, would any of those rub?
thanks in advance!

265/30/18 keeps the wheel diameter close to factory.

thank you.
being that it's wider than OEM, will it rub?
The tires not wider just your +38 offset makes them poke out. Factory wheels are good for +20 offset. So it should be close to that +2mm.

Thanks for posting these photos.

I was thinking of going 235/45R18 to prevent curb rash and have a little more comfort and that's similar to the 245/45R18's you have in the photos. I like that meaty look and was interested in filling out the wheel well without having to lower the car on springs.

Anything you don't like about your current set up other than the tires being too thick for your tastes?

I personally try to stay close to factory as possible. Factory a spec 18s are 235/40 +50. Using willtheyfit.com a 265/35 on a 9.5 is only 2-3mm smaller than stock so I would do that. if you wanted to maintain the profile with a bit of a stretch 245/40 is about 8mm bigger. Just to give you ideas

other than that, that's about it. i was worried at first that it would rub, especially when i turned the wheels as much as i can to either left or right and i can't get my fingers between the wheel well and the tire, but after driving for awhile, that did not happen.
