I have them on my Scion beater and feel they were worth the money. They work well as all-seasons and "snow" tires. Maybe only 1 level below actual snow tires. Very confidence inspiring in the cold and snow, but missing that final bit of performance and grip on icy surfaces that snow tires...
I've used Weathertechs for the past 10 years, but am now considering upgrading to the TPE material available with Tuxmats and Weathertech HP.
I like the better coverage with Tuxmats, but my only question is: how easy is it to clean the new TPE material from dirt and salt? The older weathertech...
Downpipe looks stock, everything but the intake / MAF looks stock as far as I can tell.
I'd start by asking for a discount for non-stock intake system and the additional risk involved with "a clear indication of use of aftermarket parts" . Then I'd ask the dealership to run ECU diagnostics to...
Hmm, $1,700 is a bit steep. I was thinking about doing this myself to save money. Is there a ready to go kit or did your shop cut out custom shapes from the sound-deadening material?
Is that speaker ring worth it? Does it prevent rattles when the sound system is booming?
Agreed, koatic, this is an idea: once your car has all bolt-ons and tuned up, ask the dyno shop for a quick dyno run for free or for a discount measuring how much of a difference Sport and Sport + modes make. If it's too expensive, well then don't worry about it.
Wow, nice gains on intake side alone. Thank you for trying to be as objective as possible, stating temp for each dyno, keeping ECU stock, even keeping the sport mode mix up for the 2nd dyno. Looking forward to your exhaust-side update video.
A thread a few months back mentioned how PRL was bought out by a private equity firm. Looks like they still can't solve their operations issues. Buy their products through a distributor like TSP or go with 27WON.
Question: did you test the PRL RMM recently or some time ago? How cold was it in your part of Colorado when you tested? My one concern now is that winter coming, RMMs will get a lot more stiff.
Love the meaty tire look. Want to do something similar. Do you notice any changes in cornering with the 40 sidewalls?
Also, what's the drop on those Swift springs? Do you rub or hit bump stops ever?
Thanks for the write up. Wannabe future Porsche owner here, and I appreciate your opinions. I agree, the tall gearing would be a buzz kill on the excellent 718 platform.
Awesome, thanks for the response. Cayman/Boxster T (or maybe 911 T) are one of my future acquisition cars, but good to know that the ITS is so comparable. Makes me feel better that there is a great value option down lower on the price scale.
Thanks for posting these photos.
I was thinking of going 235/45R18 to prevent curb rash and have a little more comfort and that's similar to the 245/45R18's you have in the photos. I like that meaty look and was interested in filling out the wheel well without having to lower the car on...
Red in back reminds me of 1960's Batmobile. I think Godo is right, maybe it's the shade of red that's too bright or something.
Red in front reminds me of Rudolph the Reindeer as another mentioned. Black on black is nice.
