Beating a dead horse...or not...let's keep this factual. What are your experiences with both oils. To keep it interesting please state your oil change range, application (street or race) and lab results if you have some.

Based on all I've read, I'm leaning to Pennzoil...why? Bang for the $ (opportunity cost).

Let's keep it civil TEAM ! ???

I only have a few UOA done, but some oils are going to shear quicker than others (and its not a linear equation either, can shear a bit early then be stable for 10K miles, just depends.)

That's what I care most about, don't want it going out of grade.

SS is a very good base oil , and HPL No VI series would be some of the most shear stable you can get, but at a premium price.

If I wanted to do longer drain intervals, I would invest in either of those oils, not a $30 ones we can get, mostly due to the fuel dilution I see in 5K UOA reports.

So far, M1 ESP has shown better results than Mobil 1 EP. I have not tried any Pennzoil, but I would expect PUP to behave similar to the EP, similar to any other top of the line product (Castrol Edge, QSUD etc...)

This is all with 20 grades in mind: added buffer when using a 30 grade ;)

I am not married to a grade but I want to protect the little guy at 22 PSI, and one could argue 20 Grade lives too close to the edge for the suggested OCI Honda has installed.

I was turned on to Amsoil back in the 2000's, I used it for my car, my Harley and my truck.
I have never had any issues with Amsoil and it gives me peace of mind.
I had read about 8 ball bearing tests and other data suggesting Amsoil was very good, and a mechanic friend of mine swore by it, so... I switched to it from Mobile 1.
I use 0W/20 Signature series now in my 2024 Acura Integra Type S.
